Shocking scenes from Kalyan, Maharashtra. Buddhist monks threw themselves in front of bulldozers to save a sacred Buddha statue and memorial, but the authorities pushed ahead with the demolition anyway.

As monks pleaded and protested peacefully, they were allegedly beaten with sticks and dragged aside.

A revered place of worship and remembrance was crushed under heavy machinery, leaving devastation, outrage, and painful questions about the treatment of peaceful religious communities.

The BJP government of PM Narendra Modi used its political police to raid the home of the former Chief Minister of Kerala, @pinarayivijayan, a leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) or CPI (M). In Delhi, the CPI (M) held a demonstration at the political police headquarters. The police reacted with characteristic force, arresting a range of leaders, including MA Baby (@MABABYCPIM - here in white), being dragged to prison.

শিক্ষারত্ন পুরস্কারের সম্মান পেলেন বটে,
কিন্তু অবসরের পেনশন পেলেন না।।

পুরস্কার টা না হয় দিলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী,
কিন��তু এই আত্মহত্যার দায় কার?

শিক্ষাক্ষেত্রে কঙ্কালসার চেহারাটা
প্রতিদিনই ফুটে বেড়োচ্ছে কিন্তু।
