@pulse_pune Thank you for consistently highlighting the issue of Kad Nagar's electricity poles standing in the middle of the road. These poles posed a serious safety risk, with several accidents and many near misses reported over the years.
Appreciation to @PMCPune and @MSEDCL for working together and taking the necessary action to finally remove these hazardous poles. This is a significant step towards improving road safety for residents.
Special thanks to @navalMH, #ManishaShekatkar, and @aniruddhap52303 for their continuous efforts and support in helping resolve this long-pending issue. Looking forward to the road expansion and further infrastructure improvements with walking footpaths and dual roads in the area, as the same was neglected big time in the past.
Thanks to @ThePuneMirror@punekarnews@TOIPune@htTweets also for covering the story

🚨 Imagine paying property tax for 8 years and since 2006 No Water Pipeline Network in #Undri, #Pisoli, #Handewadi — and still buying water from a tanker every morning just to make your family's chai.
That's the reality for 55,000 residents across Undri, Pisoli & Handewadi, Pune.
📊 DATA ALERT — 62-Society Water Audit, May 2026:
▪ 62 societies | 12,317 flats | 55,427 residents
▪ 1,234 tankers consumed DAILY
▪ ₹9,87,200 spent by residents EVERY SINGLE DAY
▪ ₹36 Cr drained every year to private suppliers
▪ ₹200+ Cr lost since merger @PMCPune piped water delivered: ZERO
Not one drop. Not one pipeline. Not one overhead tank. NO Development Plan Approved till date. In 8 years, Since October 2017.
Solution is Ready:
✅ Under PPP Model build 10+ Overhead Water Tanks
✅ Construction cost — recovered from tanker savings in under 2 years
✅ Use Amenity Spaces as Land exists. Engineering to be delivered by @PMCPune.
What's missing isn't money. It isn't land. It isn't engineering.
It's political will. 💧

Although we are all happy that we could contribute in activating supply of Water from 3 Tanks in NIBM ANNEXUE, a plan awaits water to the other areas dependent on Tanker Water.
Pune’s new civic template: complete a project, hold a grand inauguration, then compete over who gets political ownership of taxpayers’ money https://t.co/AiNwJDEi7q
Partial success must not make us complacent. The fight for equitable water supply continues. Next mission: water for Undri Hilltop, Undri, Wadachiwadi, Pisoli, Autadwadi & Handewadi. Citizens must unite n amplify efforts. @Dev_Fadnavis@ChetanVTupe@SunetraA_Pawar@vijayshivtare
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis credited citizens, resident groups and forums for persistently pursuing issue of water supply in #Mohammadwadi-NIBM belt, saying their continuous follow-ups ensured water finally reached the 3 overhead tanks in the area. @Dev_Fadnavis@navalMH
@MURWDFoundation The people of Pune are not asking for favors—we are asking for what is essential to live with dignity for the taxes we pay.
@PMCPune It’s time to listen, act, and deliver on the ground, where it matters most.
750 meters. 45 minutes. Just to take a left at Indian Oil Petrol Pump junction at #KadNagar in Undri. That’s the reality of living in Undri everyday and more 5000+ apartment are under construction.
@PuneCityTraffic Police — completely missing. #PTPApp — useless, no response.
PMC last 15+ years, we have been just hearing assurance but — zero development, only collecting property taxes to build elite location like FC Road, JM Road, University Road from the taxes collected from Undri.
@Bjp4Pune Corporators missing after PMC election. All false promises on Citizens Manifestos agreed.
#Undri, #Mohammadwadi, #NIBMAnnex — all neglected like they don’t exist.
#KadNagar to #NyatiWindchimes bridge? Construction stalled. Contractor vanished.
Residents are left with ONE crater-filled #Undri Marg road.
Emergency situation? God help us — because authorities won’t.

Sir besides water purchase costs are the following;
🛑 Cost of Power for processing water
🛑 Salaries paid to an Operator appointed
🛑 Cost of chemicals needed for processing
🛑 Maintenance cost of WTP & Electrical equipments associated
A Society like ours buys roughly
#water for 180000 each month
#Costof power 18000 p.m.
#Operatorsalary 20000 p.m.
#chemicalcost 10000 p.m.
#WTPmaintenance 10000 p.m.
(includes Electrical maintenance)
i.e. 35% additional costs.
If that be the case the Developer ought to reimburse these costs as it adds additional load on citizens many of whom are retired.
Hence we are paying these costs for 20+ years unheard of. Hence instead of providing Swimming Pools, Gyms, etc, basic infrastructure ought to be provided. It's a scam of disproportionate levels which is never attended to.
#SOLUTION : BRING A MOROTORIUM ON CONSTRUCTION TILL SOME RELIEF IS PROVIDED IN PUTTING IN PLACE BASIC INFRASTRUCTURE !!
We know that there is no political will in providing the above as a 'give & take' situation exists between Developers & Authorities who pass on the miseries to the buyers. Is this, SAB KA SAATH SAB KA VISHWAS?

A powerful "Know Your Candidates" set up by @murwdf & @pulse_pune interaction brought together all parties contesting the Corporation Elections for, hosted at GangaGlitz. Leaders engaged directly with citizens, understanding the needs of the area
The Mohamadwadi Undri Residents Welfare Development Foundation (@MURWDFoundation ) has been consistently pursuing the @PMCPune and the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (@MSEDCL ) for the relocation of unsafe Electric Poles obstructing the main road at #KadNagar Chowk in #Undri.
Over the past three years, MURWDF members have left no stone unturned in their efforts. They have written to multiple authorities, including the Members of Parliament from Baramati and Shirur constituencies @narendramodi, @Dev_Fadnavis, @mieknathshinde, @kolhe_amol, @supriya_sule, the MLA @vijayshivtare representing the respective areas, and several earlier PMC Commissioners, including #VikramKumar & @DrRajBhosale of @PMCPune and @MSEDCL. Despite repeated delays and bureaucratic hurdles, the group continued to pursue its follow-ups through written appeals, phone calls, and personal visits.
Their unwavering commitment has finally paid off, as @PMCPune & @MSEDCL have now initiated the process of shifting the poles underground — a long-pending demand aimed at improving public safety and traffic movement in the area.
This marks a major victory for the residents who worked together under MURWDF’s leadership. The collective effort not only reflects the community’s determination but also highlights the impact of citizen-led advocacy in resolving local infrastructure issues and ensuring safer, better-planned neighbourhoods.
Special Thanks to @navalMH for giving the go-ahead on laying the cables and removing the hurdle of Electricity Poles, which will ease the traffic at Kad Nagar. Also Special Thanks to @pulse_pune for making the impact.
