Watching the Halo 2 Making Of documentary and feeling depressed these guys got forced out of their dreams jobs by a generation of neurotic hacks who failed anyway
For those who don’t know, back in 2022, I made a halo infinite Believe style diorama, filmed everything on my phone, then donated it to Halo Studios.
Everything was like usual with my style all practical and in camera.
Jumping on here briefly to confirm Halo Fest is still on for December. No changes to dates, locations, etc.
For more details on the event, I'm going to please ask for your patience as our first priority is to provide support and care for our teammates. We will communicate more updates in the coming weeks.
Here's my free advice to Activision on how to proceed with Halo:
Step 1: Contact and request an audience with the following original Halo/Bungie devs: Jaime Griesemer, Chris Barrett, Marty O'Donnell, and Marcus Lehto.
The goal of the conversations should be to answer the following questions: "How and why did the 343 Halo games not live up to the Bungie Halo games? How can future Halo games do better in this regard?"
Have those discussions. See if you can find a common understanding. Beyond that, the franchise is Activision's to find success or failure. But perform this necessary due diligence immediately.
Let me use a hypothetical to help make the point:
Let's say that I was given the game director role on the next Half-Life game. And then I was asked, "Hey, would you like to meet and chat with some of the original devs from Half-Life1/2? They would be happy to share their knowledge." My answer would be "Yes, of course. Only a fucking idiot would choose NOT to talk w the original devs."
It would seem that 343/Halo Studios didn't see this as an important part of the process.. and we all know how that ended.
I hope Activision doesn't make the same mistake.
"The most horrible thing is Halo not being as relevant as it should be... this is probably the biggest second chance that Halo as a game has, and it really is an all or nothing bet"
Halo pro Lucid on Activision giving Halo one more chance
The PC version of FF7 officially supported the Yamaha XG MU80, which meant you could pass through the soundtrack through it and have the MIDI file played through the device's higher quality samples.
It's quite good on tracks like Mako Reactor. The synth crescendo is excellent
@Eloras_clownary I hope the new gears game is a model they use going forward. I've been with this franchise for 20 years so regardless of what happens i will be there no matter what
Marcus Lehto is DEAD QUIET about this Halo news, interestingly after he started polling to see what people want out of a new Halo not to long ago
Don’t be shocked if it happens guys.
Here’s my new video report: https://t.co/4x2ZwVqTsX
Two days ago my source informed me that an official email confirmed Activision’s recent Halo prototype (which I reported on last month) still exists and is pending Microsoft’s approval. As I was preparing my report about it yesterday, insiders revealed there will be major Halo news today. Specifically, Halo is moving under Activision and Halo Studios is being hit with layoffs. Halo is about to change forever! #Halo #Xbox
