Pls take a look at the webpages of this Chinese origin Prof. Most of his students appear Chinese origin immigrants. If tech companies have to hire from available talents, the supply of students is skewed at an academic level :(

Look at Prof. Jiawei Hans Data Mining Group at UIUC. The photos all point to a very high intake of Chinese-origin students. If Profs do not take all students then the pipeline that feeds into the employment system itself is skewed.

In UCs, in-state applicants do more AP courses, community service, leadership, clubs and ECs. Such criteria are thrown out the window for International applicants. Yet somehow the claim is that USA does not produce talented kids, when our own systems reject them.

@SpeakSamuel Every fellowship fund has another set of essays and separate applications. Students are just exhausted. A one page resume will do the same job instead of another 10 essays. Univ Admissns & their OCDs on essays operate akin to Medical Centers giving us MRI images on CDs.

@immigrationgirl Getting into Grad School for USA born kids and especially in-state kids is super hard, it is easier for International kids questionable understanding of undergraduate content simply because they pay more tuition.

@ideafaktory Univs force students to take a certain minimum credits per semester. In STEM degrees when just 2 or 3 courses are time consuming - students force themselves to sign up random courses to meet this college-mandated minimum. Often 30% of tuition spent on irrelevant courses. BAD.

@marcportermagee Northeastern does that. First year is spent in Europe. The Univ cant provide housing to so many but still wants their money. They come up with creative ways, like study in your school of choice or study abroad, and you can come to campus from second year. SCAM!
