Republication of the letter from Mr. Reiisian @amirreiis , Toomaj's lawyer, to the head of the judiciary regarding Toomaj's innocence and his unlawful detention:

Dear Mr. Mohseni Ejei, the head of the judiciary, greetings. I have witnessed the most peculiar and extraordinary proceedings regarding the case of Mr. Toomaj Salehi, as his legal representative. I felt compelled to share part of these events with you, so that if such occurrences were unintended and contrary to the legislator's intentions, you would at least be informed of the outcomes. If, on the other hand, these results were intended and aligned with your goals, despite your recommendations, I hope this letter brings these violations to your attention, urging prompt rectification of such judicial practices in our country.

Recently, Mr. Toomaj Salehi announced in a video file that he had filed a complaint with the judicial authorities against the officers who had detained him in the month of Aban 1401 (October 2022). Immediately on the 9th of Azar 1402 (30 Dec 2023) , based on the order of Branch 11 of Isfahan Prosecutor's Office and the delegation of judicial authority to Babolsar, he was detained on charges of spreading false information. On the same day, despite the judicial order being solely for clarifying the charges, another individual accompanying him was also arrested. Shortly afterward, a relative of theirs was summoned, and his residence was searched. Computers and mobile phones belonging to both individuals were seized by the arresting officers. In the executing court, a bail of 200 and 500 million Tomans was issued, but the accused were not allowed any contact with their families or bail depositors. Under the pretext of inability to process the bail, they were sent to Isfahan Prosecutor's Office and Isfahan Prison. It is clear that such a procedure is neither in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code nor in line with the judicial recommendations, such as the Judicial Security Document or the Guidelines for Preserving the Dignity of Individuals in judicial authorities.

Moreover, despite Mr. Salehi being charged only with clarifying the accusations against him, no justification is given for the detention of unrelated individuals to the case, the search of their homes, and the confiscation of their personal belongings. This practice is not only legally and constitutionally inconsistent but also lacks compliance with the eight-article order and bears no resemblance to the principles of fair trial advocated in our country's culture. However, the story does not end here. The esteemed head of Isfahan Judiciary, in the early days of the arrest, declared in an interview with MIZAN News Agency that the reason for Toomaj Salehi's arrest was his false claim of filing a complaint against the relevant authorities. Even after the authenticity of Toomaj's statements was verified, and any doubts regarding whether he had taken legal action were dispelled, the new case filed against him not only remained unresolved but no judicial authority was accountable to the family of the accused. Every judicial authority they approached denied having the case, and this continued regardless of the evidence presented. Denial!
