I did not follow the #trial of @realDonaldTrump closely.
I did not study the case law, follow the prosecution’s arguments or the defenses rebuttal. But according to @shaunmmaguire ‘s post below, he did.

It is clear to me that his experiences and past security clearance has given him access to information that allows him to speak with more authority and certainty that I am responsibly able. That said, his words do ring true with what I have been able to surmise even from my limited seat.

What he has written and his willingness to face social and professional consequences along with how he has backed it up with a significant financial investment is compelling.

His well written post is worth your time, especially given that it comes from someone who like me, has repeatedly been more than a little troubled at Trump’s comments, actions, attitudes and character when it comes to woman and those who disagree with him or he believes are disloyal.

Obviously- Shaun and I do not agree on the importance of protecting life but we do agree abortion is not a constitutional right and that the issue should be decided at the state level or through elected representatives in Congress. I respect Shaun’s boldness and clarity and think you will too.

That said, @shaunmmaguire and I agree that Trump’s crassness and character issues - as unacceptable as they are - fall FAR short of the degeneracy, hypocrisy, democracy threatening, God mocking, societally corrupting, future damaging policies and practices of the “left” - of the current Democratic Party, of the administration of Joe Biden.

#Trump is not the solution to our nation’s troubles…and it has long troubled me to see many - especially people who profess confidence in God’s Word and way- whole heartedly support him without criticism or apparent concern. But the current administration and the Democratic Party’s continued mockery of morality, common sense, integrity, ethics, religion, war on the family, disregard for children and enthusiasm for socialistic policies WILL guarantee our nation’s ruin. It is encouraging to me that others like @shaunmmaguire @joerogan and even @billmaher are beginning to clearly see the hypocrisy, corruption and failures of those they previously had generously embraced.

Yes, our nation is in trouble, but God always has His remant ready to lead in the darkest hour. The solution is repentance. Humility. Morality. The nations hope is the nation’s return to the ethics our forefathers repeatedly warned us to not neglect “as our constitution was not written for an immoral and non-religious people”. America was not perfect in its founding. It should always trouble us that men who wrote of a God who gives men inalienable rights were so willing to so long deny those rights to others. This denial led to our nation’s first civil war, let us pray and work as long and hard as we must so that our current civil divide will not grow into another tragic civil war.

Now is the time for men to speak. To stand. To lovingly, courageously, viligantly “make war” on the philosophies that are becoming practices before the world-view war turns into another real war with real bloodshed.

By God’s grace we have not moved to real “battlefields” against one another but the battle for the classroom, the pulpit, entertainment, media and government has been raging for decades. The “war” has not been going well because men have been too comfortable, too quiet, too compromised for too long.

This is a moment for leaders to rise. For men to speak truthfully, urgently and fearlessly. @shaunmmaguire has modeled that well for you in his post below. What I read rings true and is consistent with the observations I have made and the conversations I have had with others who have served our nation in the military, intelligence agencies and in the halls of government.

Be on the alert. Stand firm in the faith. Act with courage. Be strong and let all you do be done in love. #1613project
