VP @SussexStrategy | Former: Deputy Campaign Manager for @MarkJCarney, Director of Communications for @liberal_party, PMO Communications for @JustinTrudeau 🇨🇦
Jessica Cardill brings years of experience, sound judgement, and a proven record of leadership to our Liberal team.
We have important work ahead to build a stronger Canada, and I’m looking forward to working with Jess as National Director to get it done.
@JessCardill knows LPC inside and out, and has the vision to keep innovating for the future and growing the Party in every part of the country.
A fantastic choice!
I’m excited to announce that Jessica Cardill will serve as the Liberal Party of Canada’s new National Director.
She will help shape our next chapter, support our teams and volunteers, and strengthen the tools, training, and resources they need to grow our Party across the country.
Azam’s service as National Director has made a deep contribution to our democracy for nearly a decade, and his dedication was essential in our party’s work to earn a clear mandate from Canadians to build Canada Strong.
Thank you Azam, and best wishes on your next endeavours.
.@AzamIshmael, you’ve given our party and our country so much, and I’m incredibly grateful to have shared in this journey alongside you.
As you prepare to step down as National Director at the end of this month, I want to thank you for your leadership, friendship, and extraordinary service.
A year ago today, Mark Carney and our new Liberal government earned a mandate for change from Canadians.
Together, we’re building a stronger Canada for all – and we’re not slowing down!
“The clips are the content. That’s what people are consuming. That’s where they’re spending their time,” the writer and podcaster Ed Elson tells @cwarzel.

What does the model look like with only the three by-election results applied?
🟥263 (+94)
⚜️36 (+14)
🟦27 (-117)
🟧15 (+8)
🟩2 (+1)
(Change from the 2025 Election)
Clips are the thing, btw.
It’s not that you need your candidate doing influencer interviews (though you should) or YouTube videos (though you should). All of those things are clips.
It’s that you need to constantly be generating content of the candidate from the stuff they are doing all day. Interviews, interactions with people, events.
“Oh but the boss doesn’t want to wear a mic” ok! Your loss.
“We want those interactions to be private!” Ok! No one will see them.
“Need a memo before we can do that” ok! It won’t happen.
Biggest declines in CPC vote in byelections, since 2015 (35 total byelections):
1. Terrebonne (2026) -14.8%
2. Scarborough SW (2026) -12.2%
3. University Rosedale (2026) -11.1%
4. Lac Saint Jean (2017) -8.3%
5. Toronto Centre (2020) -5.7%
The night is still young, but CPC vote change so far:
University Rosedale: -11%
Scarborough SW: -13%
Terrebonne: -15%
The CPC at 3% in Terrebonne is less than half their worst riding result anywhere in QC in '25, and could be one of their worst QC riding results ever.
More than 4,500 Liberals came together in Montréal this weekend.
We’re united in our mission, ambitious for our country, and together, we’re building Canada Strong.
A year ago today, Mark Carney and our new Liberal team kicked off the 2025 election campaign with a plan to build Canada Strong.
Since then, we’ve worked to deliver for Canadians — bringing down costs, diversifying our trade, and empowering Canadians with more opportunities.
A year ago today, Mark Carney was elected Leader of our Liberal Party.
Since day one, our new Liberal team has been relentlessly focused on building Canada Strong — and delivering the serious leadership needed at this important moment for our country.
