@avataram@TheSignOfFive Rich chinese use Vancouver real estate to stash their wealth abroad. They circumvent Chinese capital controls (currently at $50,000 annually) by laundering through casinos in Macau and 'business consultants' in Hong Kong.
@dexterfinbar@DevnaKD It's minimum £12 for a cocktail and £7-8 for a pint/mocktail at any decent place. All starters are £15-18 and mains are £20+, unless you're eating at some hole-in-the-wall place in Hounslow or east London.
@RahulChels@bronchomon The rail infra is now a shadow of its former self, sadly. You can't use rail to travel to smaller towns and cities, especially in the north and southwest. I was shocked to find out you can't go directly from Oxford to Cambridge via rail.
@RahulChels Most probably, it's going to be a listed property, which means that it will be an absolute hell to renovate or upgrade. Every few months, some Indian engagement accounts will post about quaint UK country mansions being cheaper than RRE in Mumbai. Nobody bothers with the why.
@Deshpacito661 LMAO, I remember receiving a grey BMM t-shirt from my relatives as a child. It had the flags of India, Canada and the US in an oval with the words BMM emblazoned across it in black. I wore it for many years before it eventually devolved into a dusting cloth.
@Venkat_R_@AgentSaffron Do we have the requisite cold chain to handle meat/eggs? Given current conditions, introducing meat/eggs would lead to massive spikes of salmonella poisonings. Easy to pontificate when you can purchase hygienic meat products of the highest quality.
@shripatsurana@KanchanGupta The Dalai Lama and countless Tibetan refugees (i.e. non citizens) travel outside on an Indian passports. A sizeable chunk of partition refugees, Lankan Tamils rendered stateless were also given Indian passports.
@shripatsurana@KanchanGupta Nope. Many western countries issue passports to refugees/non-citizens. They treat it as a travel document. You need birth certificate or naturalisation certificate for proving citizenship. Furthermore, citizenship and nationality are two different things.
@plot_twistttt Despite this first world quality of life and picturesque scenery, why is New Zealand depopulating to the point that there is a severe labour shortage in various critical sectors. Why do Indians who receive NZ citizenship decamp immediately to Australia or the UK?
@RsWarcher28886@Jhunjhunuwala_ What exactly is pioneering about modern British railways? Their HSR is more than a decade late and billions of £ over budget. Train services to smaller towns are getting terminated due to budget cutbacks. Lastly, it is cheaper to fly out to Europe than take a train locally.
@AgentSaffron For some reason I like cold weather. Went to Spiti valley during winter, when average temperatures hovered around -18°C. Enjoyed every bit of it.
@unrave20 A lot of footpaths in Pune already resemble like those shown in the pictures above. Hopefully by the end of this decade, this will be all over the city.
@iamankitpande It's reasonable for the price. All the high quality meals shown in Chinese/Korean vlogs cost a minimum of ₹400-500 per meal. If you are able to budget ₹800-1000 per day for food, you too can get top quality meals. How many people can afford ₹30000 per month only on food?
@AgentSaffron Must be definitely dog meat. I actually know someone who consumes dog meat. He told me if cooked well, it is virtually indistinguishable from mutton. That puts into perspective, all the hole-in-the-wall eateries selling full plate mutton biryani for ₹100/120.
