@ArminRosen Are you congratulating yourself after this piece of bootlicking drivel?
It's not the aesthetics of the building, you ring-kissing sycophant, it's the fact that your cult leader demands that it be used to glorify him personally.
And here you are
Political fortunes can change rapidly, sometimes in mere hours.
Early this morning, GOP Senator Eric Schmitt of Missouri landed an Axios news mention that he's "seen as a top prospect to become a potential 2028 running mate" for J.D. Vance.
Just hours later, Schmitt is now going down in congressional history with one of the most embarrassing moments ever witnessed in a hearing.
You see, Schmitt was questioning Jack Smith, the former federal prosecutor tasked with investigating Trump back in the day. The GOP has long tried to nail Mr. Smith for impropriety.
So, Schmitt asks Jack Smith if he's ever attended an Atlanta Hawks game. The Hawks are the NBA team in Atlanta, of course.
Smith and everyone watching are like: "Huh?"
It then becomes clear that Schmitt is trying to claim that Smith colluded with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis against Trump.
Schmitt's claim here rested on his belief that Smith had attended an Atlanta Hawks game -- basically, he's in Atlanta and swings by at some point to chat with Willis.
So, Jack Smith is sitting there VERY confused (along with the rest of us) as Schmitt keeps questioning him about this Atlanta Hawks game. Smith is certain he hasn't attended such a game, and he's not even sure he's been in Atlanta outside of a connection stop at the airport.
Schmitt, during all this, claims Smith has perjured himself.
It turns out... Smith had attended an Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball game to see Caitlin Clark and team play against the University of Maryland -- in Maryland.
Schmitt and his team had compiled this accusation against Smith and somehow, no one in this bunch of fucking clowns had realized they were confusing the Atlanta Hawks (a men's pro team) with the Iowa Hawkeyes (a women's college basketball team).
This all gets revealed during Sen. Klobuchar's time during the hearing, and she takes the moment to question her colleague Schmitt and allow him to clear the air over the obvious confusion.
Schmitt, very embarrassed at this point, as he should be, gets quite pissed and starts shouting in the hearing about being questioned.
You know what? I think he's the perfect running mate for Vance in 2028. Bless his heart.
