The residual (economic) rent of land, when privately capitalized as price rather than socialized, is more than a pure transfer from producers to owners, it is also maladaptive dissipation of exergy, shrinking the viable configurations of the coupled human–ecological system.
@ggraham@SheldonRichman Pure familial preference is locally coherent but systemically incomplete. Institutional redesign should aim at multi-scale coherence: lineage motivation is preserved and harnessed inside a larger claim structure that keeps the shared state space regenerating.
@ggraham@SheldonRichman Durable institutional architectures preserve the dissipative structures (legal systems, infrastructure, human capital formation) that make high investment/high trust societies viable. Border policy can strengthen or weaken those structures.
@ggraham@SheldonRichman Looks like exergetic positional coherence failure. Short term mobility and equality of claim structure with weak routing into multi generational public goods.
