@PodSaveAmerica@EmmaVigeland Shocking, the democratic donors and political consultants that are employed by them don’t want to admit publicly that their candidate’s silence and cowardice on the major foreign policy/moral issue of our time might have contributed heavily to their loss in ‘24.
@HolderStephen@chabar84 I’m certain we aren’t watching the same team if you truly believe this. Consistently has holes at edge and secondary and had to be humiliated into spending in FA last year, which I’m convinced had a lot to do with a new owner and tons of fan discontent.
@the2kmessiah It’s the easiest thing the NBA can do to protect the “integrity” aka value of the product for broadcasters. If you open up a can of worms about gambling, referees, etc, they’re putting their anti trust exemptions at risk. Band aid on a gunshot wound type move
@HolderStephen I agree with that. I also think that journos get close to sources from the teams can get overly friendly with them or get overly antagonistic just to seem adversarial with them and that can skew their point of view.
@RomeovilleKid With the way the league & nba national media treats small markets, nobody should be surprised by the contradiction. The way to flip your fortune in the nba is to stack picks and talent. You have to lose to do that, but it’s only a punishable offense if you’re in Utah or Indiana.
@RomeovilleKid It’s embarrassing. Clearly teams (okc lol) that have trades with protected picks pending have complained to the NBA about the pacers and jazz and so this is the reaction. Don’t remember this happening to the lakers and sixers when they openly tanked in the 2010s.
@BarryOnHere Totally agree. Can’t believe yet another historical doormat of a college football program has won a national title in this era by flushing their roster with cash. That’s all it takes to win!
@RomeovilleKid Was your question asking him what he sees as his biggest accomplishment a few days ago useless too? He’s now on the record saying essentially “well 5 years ago I did good stuff” because you asked him that.
@RomeovilleKid It was tough, but do you really think it was useless to ask him if he’d earned another opportunity? That question got him on the record reflecting on his resume and tenure. I’m sure you like him as a person and that question was awkward to ask, but there was clear utility in it.
@HolderStephen I mean that’s fair, but also she’s gotta know she’s saying and doing things that are deeply unpopular with the fanbase while simultaneously thanking the fanbase for support. While I can commend her for facing the music, I do question the self awareness in this scenario.
@HolderStephen I think fans are confused why she would even give a press conference and spit platitudes about how “I’m pissed” and “the sense of urgency has never been higher.” Why not just tweet out your statement and move on? Is ownership even required to speak to the press after the season?
@ZachHicks2 Big reason why they should bring him back: southern charm and a salt and pepper beard. John Lynch and Roseman might win all the time, but they don’t look cool as hell in a flat bill cap.
@ZachHicks2 Zach what’s your theory about why Ballard has retained his job so long? Cause he’s a nice dude and was once a sought after prospect? I don’t get it.
@HolderStephen You and I would both pray for the job security that Chris Ballard seems to have. 9 seasons and his biggest accomplishment is having the first 8-2 team ever to miss the playoffs lol. He seems to get a lot of runway for whatever reason, maybe you have some insight into that.
