@praeIiator There’s a gentle nod, and it’s a few minutes before he pipes up again, feels as though he owes some explanation. His voice is still quiet, and yet, it comes so matter-of-factly.
“Dads been cheating on Mom.”
@praeIiator Pip swallows hard at the contact, hesitates a second before offering a gentle squeeze back.
He still hasn’t lifted his gaze from the dashboard, and there’s a certain raggedness to his voice when he speaks, already run raw.
“Can we go?”
@praeIiator As soon as he spots George’s car, he’s heading quickly over. Getting in and shutting the door behind him, despite his whole body feeling stiff.
It’s after a few moments of silence, when he still hasn’t met his boyfriend’s gaze, that Philip gets out a barely audible, ‘hey’.
@praeIiator There’s a dip of a nod, and Philip takes a seat, gesturing for George to do the same. Something is fluttering in his chest — the effort to learn /anything/ means a lot.
It’s once he’s sat that he pulls his phone from his pocket — it’s quicker than writing — and types out, —
@praeIiator text to: george
— He’s pissed because he thinks you’re a bad influence. I don’t know.
— George, I haven’t missed a day of school since seventh grade.
@rebelIatio “History,” but he doesn’t lift his gaze; simply continues looking down at the device, typing intermittently.
Philip clearly isn’t making the effort he usually would in a conversation, even following an argument.
@rebelIatio After his father’s response, Philip watches for only a few further moments before sighing, discontent. Without reply, he’s turning back to his laptop and continuing to type.
@rebelIatio “When do I get my phone back?”
He spares a short glance up as he asks, and his voice is quieter, less strained, than the last time they spoke. He’s clearly calmed down, is far less panicked than before.
