@APEX_Hoops@Sheridanblog Maybe it affected his motivation on defence but the league clamping down on his carries really limited his opportunity to stay on the court
@Mr_Deeds3@kayvonmansour@BanisMajor Don't really notice a large talent disparity in the playoffs. If you're implying the 90s players couldn't play in the current era I'd push back on that too - the reigning MVP has a player archetype that closely resembles 90s play - high mid range selection and strong rim pressure
@willaaay1@nikotaughtyou@th3_prophet Yep and also that Kawhi won it the previous year in a similar way but obviously buoyed by leading the Spurs in scoring
@TheBBallSage I think most people don't look at the game (or sport generally) as a system because we haven't found the right metrics to describe it that way. All the stats are individual-based so the narrative is easier to tell around that. I wonder if we'll ever find the right stats.
@nikotaughtyou@th3_prophet I wonder how much of the subconscious thought that jump shooting teams don't win played into it as well. It was only ten years later that the NBA officially started to track gravity.
@kayvonmansour@BanisMajor The nuance is who led their team to the most success. On Havliceck, it's hard to judge the 60s because of the playoff structure and size of the league. It's like if today's Dodgers were in a league of only ten and they only need to play two series to win the chip.
@SamQuinnCBS Not sure what your reasoning is for this. If KD stays, Curry probably would have 5. Your argument relies on the whims of a spurned Durant.
@DrArtocarpus@NickDePaula@NickFriedell just listened to Fitz on Steiny and Guru talking about Steph's old man injury. How much of it do you think was his shoe free agency?
@Catch23x@FastbreakHoops5 Not sure Allen's shot would have changed his game much tbh. If it was Steph's pull-up three, for sure. But Allen was more spot-up.
Steph with better athleticism would be wild imo
@MarcGrandi The most frustrating miss is that Podz isn't Klay - doesn't have the shot production or defence to be able to replace the value Klay provided. Podz' connecting and hustle in isolation is great but someone other than Steph and Jimmy need to hit shots. No one else has consistently
@imtwiice@v576090@bscotty410 I don't understand how this stat is produced. At face value, it looks questionable to conclude that JK is in this tier of defenders and has contributed to the Hawks the way you're claiming. First thing that jumps out is it's a 2 year stat and JK has been on the Hawks for 2 mnths?
