@KimKardashian “From the streets did she emerge, and to the streets she will return. And I say unto you, she is for the streets. So be not weary, when she must return from whence she came.”
The reward for good work is more work. And Andoni Iraola has done more with less than almost any manager in the Premier League this season.
Over the past two summers Bournemouth sold Dominic Solanke for £65 million, Dean Huijsen for £50 million, Illia Zabarnyi to PSG for £57 million, Milos Kerkez for £40 million and Dango Ouattara for £42 million.
Then this January Antoine Semenyo, their top scorer at the time, left for Manchester City. Most clubs losing that many first team players in succession would be fighting relegation.
However, under Andoni’s leadership, Bournemouth finished sixth, their highest ever Premier League position, and qualified for European football for the first time in their 127-year history. They did it on the back of a 17-match unbeaten run, one of the longest in Europe's top five leagues this season.
He may not boast the trophy cabinet of someone like Oliver Glasner, who has won the FA Cup, the Conference League, the Europa League and more in recent years.
But trophies are not the only measure of a manager's quality and Iraola's work at Bournemouth makes that argument more powerfully than any words can.
Liverpool have just sacked Arne Slot and Iraola is the clear favourite to succeed him. That is the only natural next step for a manager of his calibre.
He has earned it completely. Wishing him the very best for whatever comes next.

@pennant83 But it’s not. For some reason they are allowing Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes to drag this club down with Arne Slot. My heart is breaking and I’m struggling to watch Mo and Andy’s send off. It feels to painful when I realise that Arne Slot will still be at the club🥺🤦🏾♀️
Journalist: Sir what's your take On the issue of insecurity?
Tinubu: That is the love, obedience of law. Nowhere in the holy teaching that you should engage in banditry, nowhere that you should kill another human being. The sacrifice we're talking about, if in the beginning of life where we take this from. A child was replaced with animal and that is what is value of life is all about.
See who ronu crack heads call intelligent, always talking off point.
Major cheat code for life: Be fully where your feet are. When you're at work, work. When you're with family, be with family. When you're resting, rest. Most people are physically present and mentally everywhere else.
MODULE 3: OPENING A CSCS ACCOUNT — YOUR PERSONAL VAULT FOR YOUR SHARES
After choosing a licensed broker/app, the next step to start investing on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) is to open a CSCS account.
The Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) is the organization that safely keeps records of all shares you buy on the NGX. Think of it as your bank for shares.
When you buy shares, they are not kept by your broker. They are stored securely in your CSCS account under your name.
---
WHAT IS A CSCS ACCOUNT?
A CSCS account is your personal record of ownership for shares listed on the NGX.
It shows:
- The shares you own
- The number of shares you hold
- All transactions (buying and selling)
- Corporate actions like dividends, bonuses, and rights issues
You usually pay a one-time fee to open this account, depending on your broker.
Once opened, you can access your holdings through the CSCS online portal. In the portal you can find all your shares, your brokerage firm(s), price history and many more tools to help your investment journey.
---
THE THREE IMPORTANT TERMS YOU MUST UNDERSTAND
Let’s clearly differentiate the three items every investor will encounter.
1. THE CSCS ACCOUNT (YOUR SHARE WALLET)
This is the actual account where your shares are stored.
It is:
- Opened through your broker
- Registered in your own name
- Permanent, even if you change brokers
Think of it like:
Your personal bank account for shares
---
2. THE CHN — CLEARING HOUSE NUMBER (YOUR UNIQUE IDENTITY)
Your CHN is your unique identification number in the CSCS system.
No two investors have the same CHN.
It is:
- Your permanent investor ID
- Used across all brokers
- Required for rights issues and public offers
Think of it like:
Your BVN for investments
---
3. THE BROKER'S CSCS NUMBER (YOUR ACCOUNT WITH THAT BROKER)
Each brokerage firm assigns you a CSCS number under their firm when you register with them.
If you open accounts with two different brokers, you may have:
- One CHN (same)
- Multiple broker account numbers (different)
Think of it like:
Different bank account numbers under different banks
---
EXAMPLE
Mr. Ade registers with a brokerage firm.
He receives:
- A CSCS Account — where his shares are stored
- A CHN — his permanent investor ID
- A Broker CSCS Number — his account with that specific broker
Later, if he changes brokers, his:
CHN stays the same
Shares remain safe
Only the broker account changes
---
HOW TO OPEN A CSCS ACCOUNT
Opening a CSCS account is straightforward.
Your broker usually handles the process for you.
You will typically provide:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Valid ID (NIN, Driver’s License, or Passport)
- Bank details
- Passport photograph
- Signature
Processing usually takes:
24 hours to a few working days
---
HOW TO ACCESS YOUR CSCS PORTAL
Once your account is created, you can register on the CSCS website or mobile app to:
- View your shares
- Monitor transactions
- Track dividends and bonuses
- Confirm your holdings independently of your broker
This gives investors confidence and transparency.
---
OPENING AN NGX ACCOUNT FOR RIGHTS ISSUES AND PUBLIC OFFERS
Some investment opportunities—like Rights Issues and Public Offers (IPOs)—require you to have an NGX/Primary Market account.
This allows you to buy shares directly when companies raise new capital.
Examples include:
- Rights issues
- Initial Public Offers (IPOs)
- Public Offers
- Share offers to existing shareholders
Your broker will usually help you complete this registration.
---
EXAMPLE
A company announces a Rights Issue.
Only shareholders with valid:
- CHN
- CSCS account
can participate.
Without these, you cannot buy the new shares if you’re qualified for them.
---
WHY THIS STEP IS IMPORTANT
Your CSCS account protects your ownership.
Even if:
- Your broker closes
- Your broker has technical issues
- You change brokers
