The disease of performative virtue signaling is one hell of a force. When people become so obsessed with proving their moral purity that they abandon common sense and reality, innocent people pay the price. Civilization can’t survive when public safety is sacrificed at the altar of ideological idiocy.
@MBCompanyMan They did the same thing with Biden.
And then weasels, like Tapper, wrote books about it despite being complicit in the conspiracy and cover up of Biden’s cognitive decline.
Exactly. Every country deserves honest criticism. The problem is when the criticism starts with the premise that America’s founding ideals are inherently evil and therefore must be dismantled. That’s exactly what the DSA and an increasingly influential wing of the Democratic Party advocate.
It’s rooted in the politics of envy, where success is treated as something to resent rather than something to aspire to, and America’s principles become the obstacle instead of the foundation for progress.

The situation is so much more desperate than you probably realize.
University professors are saying they're now unable to teach history because reading long books and passages is how a person learns history. Their students are simply incapable of reading more than a few pages.
Some classes don't assign any reading at all now, only lectures.
There is an assumption among the people managing this decline that reading is just a way of receiving information. It isn't. Proper reading is how we build the mental muscle to synthesize ideas and evaluate them.
If the catastrophic decline in reading and literacy is not addressed now, we risk losing everything. This is civilizational.
Western civilization cannot survive the death of reading because it was built by people with the kind of cognitive depth that a culture of deep reading brings:
Complex reasoning, extended internal dialogue, the capacity to hold opposing ideas in tension. Our systems and institutions are complex, and they require well ordered minds to maintain them.
Reading forms minds, and the West was built by the richest minds in history. We must continue to form new minds in this same model if we're going to keep it.
@ShamashAran@CFHeather Great point. Most people don’t understand filing deadlines or the political calendar. The timing naturally raises questions: if politics influenced her decision to stay silent, what changed? Who, if anyone, encouraged her to wait and who gave her the green light to speak now?
Two countries split from the same colonial body in 1965. One picked economic freedom. The other picked handouts and racial spoils. You already know how this ended.
Singapore had no oil, no farmland, no hinterland. Just a swamp and a port. Lee Kuan Yew looked at that and trusted trade, low taxes, and hard money. Central planners hate what he did.
Malaysia went the other way. In 1971 Kuala Lumpur launched the New Economic Policy, a state program handing quotas, contracts, and university seats to ethnic Malays. Politicians decided who got what. A commissar fantasy dressed in liberal language.
Now let's look at the numbers. In 1965 both places sat around $500 per capita. Today Singapore clears $84,000. Malaysia sits near $13,000. Same climate, same starting line, one sixth the result.
The Singapore dollar holds its value because the Monetary Authority of Singapore manages it against a currency basket and refuses to print its way out of trouble. The ringgit has lost roughly two thirds of its value against the Singapore dollar since 1981.
You cannot subsidize your way to wealth. You cannot redistribute what you never let people produce. Every ringgit funneled through a quota is a ringgit some bureaucrat spent on his own vision instead of a customer's.
Malaysia bet on planners deciding outcomes. Singapore bet on people deciding for themselves. The gap between $84,000 and $13,000 is your answer.
Democrats: “Protect Democracy!”
Also Democrats:
• Replace Biden after the primaries with Kamala Harris, who didn’t receive a single Democratic primary vote in the 2024 presidential primaries.
• If Platner steps aside, let party insiders, not Democratic primary voters, choose the Senate nominee.
They’re about to do it again. The party that never stops lecturing everyone else about “saving democracy” seems awfully comfortable taking the decision away from its own voters. 😂
Really? If this shadowy cabal is powerful enough to decide who wins and loses, why were Mamdani, AOC, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and countless other candidates who openly attack the establishment elected in the first place? Or maybe it’s that Platner is a terrible candidate with too much baggage. 🤔
@hernandezforny A tale of two states. After the Texas energy debacle a few years ago, Texas has rapidly expanded their grid capabilities. Despite the energy crunch in NY over the last decade, NYS has contracted grid capabilities. One state saw a problem and handled it, the other made it worse.
@awstar11 Not only do they not support them, they rightly mock and ridicule them. Contrast that with too many Democrats who have normalized socialists, communists, anti-semites, and outright bigots under the banner of a “big tent.”
There have been 4 major revolutions in the past 250 years: American, French, Russian, and Chinese. Only one led to individual rights and prosperity. The others led to mass death and tyranny. The US revolution was unique because it said two things: 1. Our rights come from God not from the govt. 2. Humans are power -hungry so we need to limit govt power. So the next time someone attacks the nation of one revolution that succeeded and recycles the the idea of those that miserably failed, you can ask them: are you ignorant, or malicious?
The difference is Texas is booming, and after the debacle a few years ago, Texas has rapidly expanded their grid capabilities. Despite the energy crunch in NY over the last decade, NYS has contracted grid capabilities. One state saw a problem and handled it, the other made it worse.
If a foreigner hates America, fine. But why then become a citizen here? Better yet, why would the US allow someone to become a citizen who hates the country?
