I'm generally posting first over here these days, though I'll admit the whole Twitter Trajectory has rather taken the shine off the socials of any flavour.

This week we welcomed back Sarah the Signwriter to paint the ECJS crests on 189. The original transfers we have are around 125 years old and very fragile. They tend to disintegrate during application. Sarah has skilfully painted the crests using an original one for reference.
@Staplefordtrain Good idea to make the best of the situation 🤓
Sadly can't make this one, but hope to be up in August, this season I seem to have lots of Other Stuff happening across my usual Steam events calendar
Tomorrow, 27 May is International 08 Shunter day.
To get you in the mood for the celebrations, here is the first in the line - the LMS prototype of 1934

@trainfanmatt That particular railway though also earns revenue from being a park and ride, and that's why there is good local support.
I'm happy for it to be a working financially sound railway first and heritage second if they have to make a choice.
@rincew1nd@EngFocus Try being in the wrong shaped vehicle.
You _think_ the rates are based on ANPR that looks up the vehicle class but it's done on measuring the shape of the front.
If your MPV looks too much like a VAN then you get charged the even more extortionate LGV rate
