There are at least four huge points why male/female categories exist. 1. Physically there is a 10-30% performance difference depending on sport. 2. Most women have to deal with the negative side effects of menstruation 3. The Q angle (hips to knees) of a female skeleton is almost 50% more than that of a males, having a massive effect on injury rates & cadence 4. Pathways in sport are still vastly more available & numbered for males
