@davidmb1989 Yea, I wish the abuse reforms had gone further including finding a way to have a database of credibly accused abusers. But I think the biggest reform isn’t structural its moral. The young pastors I know are going to be more willing to do the hard things to defend victims.

@JayHill53127 @BradyJBush @scotchanglican This is just a bad summary. Fern Creek was removed because they had a woman as pastor, but their pastor was not barred from anything.
The SBC can disfellowship from churches but churches in good standing can send any messenger at their choosing.

I pray, as you implied, any protecting of predators is in our past.
Do you think Scripture is clear about women serving as pastor?
And how can you raise her SBC? By finding an SBC church that will love yall, and train her how to grow up

Our system would allow for anyone to report their churches to the credentials committee just as they could for a church with a woman pastor.
But I expect their churches would agree being violent (or whatever charge) is disqualifying and disagree he is
