I only use my account here to follow other accounts - if you want to engage with me, find me on Facebook and friend request me there.
@GaRudan_S@GothamChess The last time I played in the World Open was at the (now defunct and demolished) Adam's Mark Hotel on City Line Avenue. The amount of time from when you pushed the button to call an elevator, to when you reached your floor, could be 10 minutes or more...
@theroxyd It's more likely they want to test you to make sure they find the prescribed drug in the expected quantity - i.e., to make sure you're actually taking it and not selling it, since ADHD stims have street value. I have friends who get put thru the same thing, for this reason.
@theroxyd The previous manufacturer discontinued it after the patent expired, and a lot of the generic sources are sketchy. If you have medication sensitivities, probably do some research on it first.
@theroxyd I've had some success with adrafinil for short term use - in the US, it's not considered a drug, it's not really considered to be anything (though it metabolizes to modafinil). Assuming you can find a legit source...
@hacks4pancakes For addressing people directly, my friends and I have used "Greetings, programs!" for ages... For referring to people in the 3rd person, don't have a good solution for that...
@starbuck3000@cybergibbons I literally just learned about using cipher.exe to wipe a drive earlier this week, via a YouTube video about largely unknown programs in the System32 folder on Windows.
@StaciaMelinda I have to admit, I would have played h3 also. I never would have found Bxf7; even looking at that line I'm not sure I'd do it. Not sure I'd want to give up my light square bishop just to gain a pawn and prevent black from castling...
@hacks4pancakes I help run our local chess club. Not only is it social and connected to something I enjoy, but it also helps boost my business skills (we're an actual 501(c)3) in a way that doesn't involve tech, so it's a nice contrast to my daily experience.
@transitapp - Thanks for decreasing the assumed walking speed. But really, this should be user configurable. Some people (e.g., me...) walk way slower than the assumed speed, when the app says it's a 10 minute walk, it's always at least 15 for me...
@TMobileHelp I have a bunch of feedback on my experiences with the new "Rebellion" prepaid system, and it's probably too long to send over Twitter. Where can I send it where it will get to someone(s) who can act on it? It's fine to DM me if need be.
In Houston We Have a Podcast Ep 71, the host asked how the camera that showed Armstrong stepping on to the Moon got there. There's an interesting story about this camera in Murray and Cox's "Apollo". Just thought I'd mention it... #AskNASA
