Happy sober Saturday #RecoveryPosse Grateful for waking up to this beautiful view. Grateful for experiencing it without blurred vision, headache and regret. I only have a daily reprieve and my life is far from perfect but I do know that today I am sober and healing. 🙌🥰💫🙌🥰
Morning #RecoveryPosse
It’s not the law to bet on the national
Youre not boring if you don’t drink or use
You CAN enjoy sports & life without drink & drugs
It does get easier when you quit. Don’t worry about when, just work your programme
Be yourself & have a boss weekend
My sober journey is 90% positivity, productivity, optimism and euphoria. Very occasionally life presents issues or problems to solve which can get me down momentarily
I love having sobriety with me to deal with issues, I’d normally turn to drink and drugs. #RecoveryPosse
My Beast (Addictive Voice) was very loud last night and I had to dig deep to keep control but I did and whilst I didn’t appreciate the victory at the time I feel so happy this morning that I didn’t succumb to alcohol
I don’t profess to be ‘cured’ - I still have to work some days
Normally at 5:45am on a Saturday, I’m ordering more cocaine, with old 00s dance hits on the TV, curtains closed, 2-3 of us chatting utter rubbish
Instead I’m making coffe, prepping my gym bag and protein & planning a nice day with my family.
Such a difference! #recoveryposse
Morning #RecoveryPosse the peace of a coffee after a nice sleep, watching day break, listening to the birds & looking forward to the day ahead or
The horror of hearing birds, seeing it get light, worrying how I am going to make it thru today on no sleep
Simple choice isn’t it?
The bottom line for me is, I can’t have a normal life and continue to drink alcohol, I understand this now as the most important rule I live by. I choose life #RecoveryPosse
There is no “old me” after finding recovery. I’m right here. The disease is still inside me doing push-ups, running marathons and riding the Peloton. I do however have a new solution and a new way of living.

“Almu, you’re overtired, so you won’t be able to rest, you’re alone, nothing else to do, it’s sunny out, tomorrow you can rest and the hungover won’t be so bad. You’ve done great the last few weeks, a few beers are not gonna hurt.” The beast
“Fuck off.” Me

We don't choose trauma recovery because we "have" to. Plenty of people DON'T choose it.
We choose it because it realistically offers us a shot at a life NOT ruled or ruined by "stuffed," untreated, pretend-it-doesn't exist trauma.
We've lost enough time to all that sh*t.
