@IvanOnTech It would be awesome if you got in touch with @ReggieMiddleton the Founder of DEFI for a chat as you talked about his patent on your show today.
I'm sure it would be a learning experience for your viewers as he holds some of the most foundational patents for crypto
Since no one does crypto IP due diligence, I'll step in once again with this #PSA. @nChainGlobal has a patent in the UK, EU, and US for #MPC, which is the method used in the cold storage of most #BTC . If you don't know, now you know! LISTEN here https://t.co/6rNaHQ5Wgw
Again, this goes back to my warning of proper due diligence. Just because something is opensource doesn't mean that the authors of the opensource software, or the users of said software had the rights to peddle the invention that the software uses. Think of opensourcing a stolen car. You can give free rids all you want, still doesn't mean you didn't steal the car. See https://t.co/PJLvGm9Sdz
We're looking to use our tech to usher humanity into the next paradigm thru Web3.... and this will be a technological leap like no other.
Web 1: Read-only, static pages
Web 2: Read-write, mega corporations own your identity, data, your capital, and you!
Web 3: Self-sovereignty, you own your identity, data, and capital, period!
We're looking for partners to help us build. Come join us in making the future, now!
I think the problem is that too many people are too worried about the prices of widgets bouncing up/down on exchange price feeds, or about what crypto media outlets have to say (said outlets owned by a tightknit group who themselves have limited patented IP). Who owns the tech is what matters, not who posts the most!
@TheNvsibleHand This industry has MASSIVE patent infringement liabilities. To open source something, it needs to be owned first (ie. IP). Who's foundation(s) is the industry being built upon? @ReggieMiddleton is certainly one and it seems @nChainGlobal is another. #licensing
ETFs, Patents, Coinbase and Why the Folly of Ignoring Ownership Will Turn Crypto Upside Down
This will likely going rub many the wrong way, but this is just the beginning. I will reveal how many aspects of this industry are already owned & patented

@TheCryptoSniper Reggie Middleton is challenging both Circle (USDC) and Coinbase over patent infringement
Coinbase fought the USPTO to invalidate these patents TWICE and lost both times
Cited 121 times these patents are fundamental to the entire crypto space

🚨NEW: @krakenfx fights back — the U.S.’s second largest #crypto exchange has filed a motion asking a Northern California court to dismiss the @SECGov’s case which alleges the company is operating as an unregistered securities exchange, broker, dealer and clearing agency:
A Kraken spokesperson tells @FoxBusiness:
"Today, we filed a motion asking the Court to dismiss the SEC’s case against Kraken. The law is clear: none of the assets in the SEC’s complaint constitute “investment contracts”, and Kraken is not a securities exchange. The SEC’s case rests on an expansive new theory that would effectively “securitize” a broad range of ordinary assets and commodities. In the SEC's view, essentially any commercial artifact that can rise or fall in value could be an investment contract. This approach would permit the SEC to commandeer expansive new authority over the U.S. economy just as Congress is debating how that authority should be allocated among federal agencies. Today, we asked the court to hand this power back to Congress, where it belongs."

What would a major global bank look like if it put US$9b into R&D vs share buybacks? If I had my way, we'd have an answer.
P2P Capital Markets!
Banks are really technology and data companies, its' just that most don't know it. They think it's still about tall marble columns
