If you are abusive/fact-free/extremist conspiracy theorist, I will block you. That is not a "win" for you. It just means no rational discussion is possible.
The much-hyped “March for Australia” ended up being a bit of a flop. Let’s look at the numbers:
• Sydney — 8,000ish
• Melbourne — 5,000 - 10,000
• Brisbane — 2,000 -5,000
• Adelaide — 1,000
• Perth — 1,000
• Hobart — 300
• Canberra — 300
• Townsville — 400
• Echuca — 400
• Launceston — 6
That’s your big national turnout. For all that noise online, the reality on the ground was small and scattered.
Compare that to the 90,000 people who marched across the bridge for basic human rights — one single event, larger than every MFA crowd across five states and the ACT combined.
The message is clear: the so-called “silent majority” is neither silent nor a majority. Most Australians don’t buy into bitterness, resentment, and finger-pointing.
And let’s not forget the irony, waving flags and shouting about who belongs here, while ignoring the fact that your ancestors were migrants too.
It’s not patriotism, it’s hypocrisy.
Australia deserves better than angry marches built on hate.
Our culture starts with the First Peoples, and then grows with every migrant wave.
Roughly one in three of us were born overseas, and one in two have a parent who was.
That’s the Australia worth protecting, not some imagined monoculture, scared of a new restaurant.

This is not a photo from history books or a distant famine.
This is now — a child in Gaza, bones visible, starving under siege and relentless war.
If this were your child, would silence still be an option?
Raise your voice. Humanity cannot look away.
#trumpdead#Gaza#Palestine
In Gaza, families scrape spilled flour from the dirt to feed their children. This is not a movie. It’s real hunger, crushed dignity, fragile hope. Imagine if it were your child. Don’t stay silent — demand food and medicine now. #Gaza#Israel#trumpdead
Ooh..."Mitochondrial Challenges" sounds cool & sort of "out there" vs gun violence, food insecurity, lack of healthcare. Addressing those doesn't sound very exciting/headline grabbing. But what about a big, beautiful Mitochondrial Protection Dome over the US. Now THAT'S exciting!
Bob Katter having an absolute meltdown because a reporter reminded him of his Lebanese heritage. One only hopes that during the March for Australia he is not offered hummus or falafel. It might stir up long denied memories.
This is an appalling aggressive act by #BobKatter, Parliament should suspend him & make him apologise for what seemed like a reasonable question
This is not becoming of a member of parliament & he should be asked to take anger management lessons🤬 #auspol https://t.co/NsqSr7XuNQ
I don’t think govt or police should shut down Sunday’s March for Australia just like I don’t think they should shut down protests & rallies I agree with.
That being said if you turn up you should know it is unquestionably being organised by Neo-Nazis, racists & crackpots.
So, uh about that March for Australia on 31st August that’s “not a Nazi rally”.
It looks like someone forgot to tell the National Socialist Network Nazis that.
If you’re still thinking of going or on the fence, this is what you are supporting.
This so-called “march for Australia” rally on 31 August is nothing more than white nationalism dressed up as some kind of misguided patriotism - which is being driven by organisers with a likely far-right-and-white agenda.
The organisers say “migration has caused Australia to change in ways that that they never agreed to”
🙄🤔
These frail petals’ faux outrage for the ills and the wrongs in this country apparently centres on migration - and all those immigrants who are supposedly taking jobs and causing the housing crisis.
Who wants to explain to them that the housing crisis is NOT an immigration problem - but a John Howard problem - when his government reduced capital gains tax liabilities by 50 percent - which resulted in a boom in investment for existing housing. After decades of CGT investment/housing investment - new home construction has never been able to keep up and has never recovered. Hence, the housing shortage and the housing crisis.
Who wants to explain to them that migration is not out of control. Migration has been naturally occurring and increasing for DECADES. The only reason that migration has been higher in the last few years is because during Covid the borders were shut - and more people were leaving the country than were entering it. As an aside, housing prices also ROSE during this period of time when there were LESS migrants in the country. Migration bounced back after the borders reopened and was higher than usual - but Australia’s population is still lower than expected.
Who wants to explain to these people that immigration is a naturally occurring event that has been happening around the world for as long as man could walk upright. Literally hundreds of thousands of years of migration. Human migration has shaped cultures, cultural differences, languages, beliefs and has driven societal and environmental change.
Who’s going to explain to them that unless their ancestors have walked this land for thousands of years they are all immigrants or descendants of immigrants and there are NO contracts that have been drawn up for them to agree to with regard to the direction they want their country to take - unless it involves an election and exercising their right of opinion via the voting booth - and we all know how the last election turned out 🙄
Who’s going to explain to them that despite their intrinsic beliefs in their own Australian “ethnicity” - a simple DNA test should disprove any notions of racial purity.
🙄
The above points I have made are sourced from factual information. It is unlikely that this truth will have any impact on those who continue to divide the country and attempt to control the narrative to suit their agenda.
Unfortunately we are at this point because of divisive politics and an accompanying media narrative that has driven culture wars, unrest in our communities and has literally enabled the rise of extremism and fringe groups who indoctrinate and manipulate vulnerable people to exploit and exacerbate social angst.
Creating more division through these agenda-driven protests is not the solution. Looking at the main factors that drive division and what really drives community unrest in the absence of these protagonists is the answer.
