What's the value of having such number plates? Or is it just doing it because it is done elsewhere?
In China, there is an advantage to having an EV car with green number plates.
In many cities, they are not subject to traffic restrictions that limit fuel-powered cars on certain days or in certain areas.
In some cities, they get discounted parking and toll fees.
Hapa kwetu, for what purpose are they for?
@Alfayaz11@ahmadsalims@KeNHAKenya@NRBIcitycounty Outdoor Advertising Companies should place bids to lease the ad spaces either in bulk or for a specific number street lights or distance per year.
@KeNHAKenya should declutter A109 & A8 roads that pass through Nairobi City by putting up such kind of street lighting. They should partner with @NRBIcitycounty to be the licensing arm to advertisers by collecting revenue and maintenance (cleaning & providing electricity) of the street lights. Ideally they should have a working formula of sharing revenue where KeNHA gets 25% of the cost while @NRBIcitycounty gets 75%. The same should be replicated across the urban centers to ensure there is order.
@kenyasgossips That's so sad for losing such a young person. The key question is how comes the Sol Festival went well with any tragic news yet this one was marred by stampede. Was it by design or there are some dark powers behind it?
@bobbythengs@Kenyans@EACCKenya@ODPP_KE The road to singapoor...3B gone and nothing to show other than patch works that needs 1 week of rains to wash it off.
@MwangoCapital Why does this look to be similar to the Malaysian 1MDB which eventually became a money laundering scandal for politicians? - https://t.co/kaoNDE6GMW
This to me seems to be an avenue to guarantee a politically connected individual a steady income for the next 30 years. It is not about solving traffic but rather to gain from it through the PPP. IF THERE IS A GENUINE NEED TO MOVE MASSES IN NAIROBI, THE FOCUS SHOULD BE TO BUILD RAILWAY RUNNING NEXT TO MAIN HIGHWAYS & SERVING SURBURBS, BUT IF THE DESIRE OF THE POLITICAL CLASS IS FOR THEIR EASE OF MOVEMENT , THEN THEY WILL BUILD ROADS FOR THEIR CARS THAT WILL ONLY SERVE SHORT TERM( MAX OF 10-15 YEARS).
The Addis Ababa to Adama Expressway has been in use since 2014 and still in a very good motorable condition. The most surprising thing about it is how affordable it is. For a 60km journey the fee is ETB 150 (Approx. $1). Compare this with the Moja Expressway and it is clear the Nairobi Expressway is way exorbitant. The fee for Addis-Adama Expressway should be the benchmark for the Rironi- Mau Summit Road. @OkiyaOmtatah@mojaexpressway@KeNHAKenya
