There is a tendency in our times to measure leadership by how well someone performs behind a microphone. A difficult interview can become the basis upon which an entire person is judged, especially in the age of social media where a few minutes on television can generate thousands of opinions.
But nations are not built by powerful speeches alone. Greatness is not arrived at through eloquence, applause or the ability to win every argument on television. Nations are built by people who are willing to work, solve problems, organize, serve and leave behind tangible results.
I know @HonTwallafadil personally, and I have had the opportunity to see the person beyond the cameras. He is, in my experience, a very practical person who believes strongly in getting things done. His strength is not necessarily in performing for an audience; it is in engaging with people, confronting practical challenges and pursuing actual work.
That distinction is important and thats why @mkainerugaba identified him among the many.
Public life will always come with criticism, and every leader who steps into the public arena must be prepared to be scrutinized. But a person’s worth should not be reduced to one television appearance, one difficult interview, or the reactions of the internet on a particular night.
The microphone captures words. Leadership is ultimately demonstrated through work.
History rarely remembers who gave the most impressive interview. It remembers those who built institutions, served communities, solved problems and contributed something meaningful to the nation.
So, while we can debate what was said on television, let us also give room for the bigger picture: judge public service over time, by substance, commitment and tangible contribution not merely by performance before the cameras.
I know the man beyond the microphone. And I know him to be someone who believes that work speaks louder than words.
Long live @PLUsecretariat
Long live @HonTwallafadil
Long live @mkainerugaba
I have seen a lot of unnecessary and deliberately fueled comments targeting our most able General Secretary, Rt. Hon. Twalla Fadil, simply because he stood firmly by his position and defended our National Chairman, Gen. @mkainerugaba, during his recent appearance on NBS Frontline.
The sponsors and motives behind these attacks are well known to us, and their intentions are equally clear. Let the public be assured that Rt. Hon. Twalla Fadil is not shaken by these useless attacks. He remains firm, focused, and committed to defending and supporting our National Chairman at all times.
His loyalty and conviction cannot be weakened or intimidated by individuals who are opposed to PLU. He will continue to stand firm, speak his mind, and defend the leadership and values of PLU without fear or hesitation.
Today we take the endorsement campaign a notch higher, one of our supporters Mr. @TugumeNelsonO of Inspire Africa Coffee has offered us an endorsement caravan to help us reach out and mobilize Ugandans to endorse Gen @mkainerugaba.
We will use the same caravan to amplify our anti-corruption campaign and also make our people aware of the existing Government programs.
I have received it on behalf of PLU on company of @chairtoyota National Vice Chairman, Commissioner @rutashararaS
and @MwesigyeFranks at the PLU Secretariat.
Thanks you Comrades for supporting Gen. @mkainerugaba.

I’m deeply saddened by the passing of Rt. Hon Gen. (Rtd) Moses Ali, member of @Parliament_Ug for Adjumani West County, on his passing today.
Uganda has lost a true giant whose legacy of selfless service, discipline, and unwavering commitment to the nation will endure for generations.
Personally, I mourn a father figure and mentor who took me in as a son. As Government Chief Whip for nine months under office of the Prime Minister where he served as Deputy PM and Deputy Leader of Government Business, his guidance and wisdom helped me settle in and grow into my role until my election as Deputy Speaker. Our offices were opposite each other and his door was always open for me to consult and tap into his unmatched wisdom.
My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, H. E the President, the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament, the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister, colleagues at Parliament, @NRMOnline, the people of Adjumani and the country at large.
May Allah grant his family strength and comfort, and rest Gen’s soul in eternal peace.
In my capacity as the current President of the Organization of African, Caribbean, and Pacific States (OACPS) and Co-President of the OACPS–European Union Joint Parliamentary Assembly, I addressed the 121ST OACPS Council of Ministers at the Egmont Palace in Brussels.
I told them that we must place trade, industrialisation and value addition at the centre of our development agenda if we are to catch up with our peers in the developed world.
I shared several examples of the opportunities we have to work together to accelerate our development.
One of them was a message that H.E. @KagutaMuseveni has consistently championed over the years: Africa and the developing world cannot achieve meaningful prosperity by exporting raw materials while importing finished products.
Exporting unprocessed minerals is, in effect, exporting jobs, industries and wealth. We must process our minerals at source, build regional value chains and manufacture higher-value products if we are to create employment, increase revenues and transform our economies.
I also highlighted that Africa possesses an estimated US$29.5 trillion in mineral wealth, yet continues to lose enormous value because most of these resources leave the continent in raw or minimally processed form. The Democratic Republic of Congo has demonstrated what is possible through value addition, significantly increasing its revenues from cobalt processing while Uganda equally did a good job with processing gold. This should inspire a collective shift across the African, Caribbean and Pacific towards policies that promote mineral beneficiation, industrialisation and economic transformation.
For years, we have spoken about making the OACPS more relevant to our citizens. We cannot achieve that unless we focus on practical issues that directly improve livelihoods.
Yes my sister Doreen. As St. Peter’s successor, he has divine authority over the church and is guided by the Holy Spirit in making such appointments. Matthew 16: 18-19.
Warmest congratulations to you Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Bosco Gubazire on your appointment by @Pontifex as the new Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Kabale.
This is a well deserved recognition of your dedicated service as a priest, your scholarly contributions, and your commitment to the Missionaries of Africa (White Fathers). Your appointment comes at an important time for the faithful of Kabale Diocese, and I have no doubt that your pastoral wisdom, humility, and visionary leadership will continue to strengthen the Church’s mission of evangelization, unity, and holistic development in the region.
I am confident that under your guidance, the Diocese will build on the strong foundation laid by your predecessor, Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, fostering deeper faith, social justice, education, and community welfare among the people of Kigezi.
On behalf of my family and the people of Ruhinda North, I pray for God’s abundant blessings upon you as you prepare to take up this sacred responsibility. May the Holy Spirit guide and sustain you in this new chapter of service to God and His people.
The CDF @mkainerugaba continues to build bridges and strengthen our bilateral relations with key partner states.
As PLU, we will support our Chairmans work and vision for a better Uganda
Good evening PLU supporters.
On the issue of Lc and women council elections!
I have received several calls from our supporters regarding the upcoming elections,
I therefore write to reaffirm that the Tukopamoja corporation between NRM and PLU is still intact.
I am also aware that NRM has fielded candidates in each village and cell of the country and among the NRM are our PLU supporters.
Its PLU appeal that all NRM Lc and women council candidates be voted.
Thank you
