@adelethelaptop Just in case it isn't clear. I don't think this is your fault. X is very combative anyways (partially due to char limit and no shortage of dumb arguments on all sides). How you worded it makes sense. The question itself made sense. It is just that the answer is slightly weird.
@submit2theLAMB@_namori_fan_ Why are you claiming those in heaven are dead? Matthew 22:32 makes it clear that God is not the God of the dead but of the living. There is also the claim made in Luke 23:43. Before making definitive claims, check to see what scripture says.
@PaulDibartolo@PopePiusIXStan Yeah, this is just a blatant lie. No where did I obfuscate. I made a distinction and explained how you were conflating 2 things. The likely reality is you are muting because you have no response.
@PaulDibartolo@PopePiusIXStan Yes, and where did you get the idea thoroughly furnished means anything to do with being the only thing necessary for Christian faith and practice?
@adelethelaptop I 100% can see how it feels like a weird situation. I also don't think it is technically pirating the catechism that is the sin (which is why there may have been the knee-jerk reaction to think this was you trying to "own" us by some responders) instead it's to do with just wage.
@PaulDibartolo@NixonandIke@PopePiusIXStan No where did I say I doubt your christianity. Why lie and insinuate that I do. I wasn't being self-righteous, I wasn't saying I'm so great blah blah blah or anything like that. I saw you were acting in a way contrary to scripture and elaborated on how it was contrary. That's all.
@PaulDibartolo@PopePiusIXStan "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."
This is what your quote says. Hope that helps
@PaulDibartolo@PopePiusIXStan Sufficient in what. The sufficiency you mentioned in the OT isn't the same as it being sufficient to be the only thing needed for faith and practice. Whether it seems it or not, it doesn't change the reality that it does not say anything confirming or denying the topic in hand.
@NixonandIke@PaulDibartolo@PopePiusIXStan Whether you are correct or not, comments like "take the L" have the effect of making people more divisive, as per James 5:19, we should try to bring them back. Comments like that make it harder to convince someone of the truth, which should be our ultimate goal here.
@PaulDibartolo@NixonandIke@PopePiusIXStan Christians should follow James 5:19. Calling someone an idiot & grandstanding how you promised yourself not to suffer fools and limits of idiocracy instead of engaging in the arguments does not bring someone back but would have the opposite effect. Do better or don't engage.
@PaulDibartolo@PopePiusIXStan You are the one here trying to get it to say something. I'm just pointing out that as per the original comment, it doesn't say anything on the topic of whether all that is necessary for Christian faith ... is in the bible. Furthermore, the idea that it does would exclude the NT.
@PaulDibartolo@PopePiusIXStan What you quoted doesn't say anything to do with the idea that all that is necessary for Christian faith and practice is contained in the bible.
@nomak98799870@SimplyKoharu@AbuShakShik@chrismramsey@MWFaithOfficial That's why it is best to be nice and point out the errors without attacking the person. Calling out a fallacy is good, though. If a person makes an error, it is best to explain where the argument fails. If it's ungrounded, mention it and ask for evidence for that conclusion.
@nomak98799870@SimplyKoharu@AbuShakShik@chrismramsey@MWFaithOfficial It's one of the most common fallacies anywhere. Whilst online dawah groups are notorious for it, it's not right to blame Islam for laypeople doing it as a more common group is people inexperience with the topic at hand. Rudeness only makes it harder for people to admit when wrong
@SimplyKoharu@nomak98799870@AbuShakShik@chrismramsey@MWFaithOfficial There's no circular reasoning. The distinction about the same text around Muhammad's time is to not overscope. For example, just cause scripture around the time of Muhammad wasn't corrupted doesn't mean it can't be corrupted later (if one doesn't hold Muhaymin to mean guardian)
@SimplyKoharu@nomak98799870@AbuShakShik@chrismramsey@MWFaithOfficial No one is asking for exact phrases, but what is being looked for is something that actually says or shows the bible is claimed to be corrupted without the need of eisegesis. 5:13 distortion originally referred to in meaning same for 3:78 twisting. 2:79 is about uninspired books.
@nomak98799870@AbuShakShik@SimplyKoharu@chrismramsey@MWFaithOfficial I'm going to mention this here since I can't directly to the comment by abushakshik because they blocked me but given the block after they responded, it seems clear they do not want their arguments be responded to. Am saying this to defend the fact that I'm no longer responding.
@SimplyKoharu@chrismramsey@AbuShakShik@MWFaithOfficial So you agree since if we keep in mind that distortions historically did not refer to physical corruption but corruption of the meaning. I.e. what people thought it meant. Then, for the actual meaning to be distinguished, the text would need to not be meaningfully corrupt.
@SimplyKoharu@chrismramsey@AbuShakShik@MWFaithOfficial Ok, formulate the argument and show where it is more than just hiding the truth but instead corrupting the book based on the text of the Quran. Keep in mind 5:47 tells christians to judge by what has been revealed in the gospels. With nothing about what they have being corrupt.
