@SenSusanCollins@NRSC I repeat: @SenatorCollins is a perfect example of why the 17th needs to be repealed. NOBODY should be in elected office that long.
@jamestalarico “Take back” ?!? Take back what, exactly?
Look, I’m not a fan of Trump, but hell if I want the Democrats anywhere near having power. You guys run things into the ground. It’s baked into your party platform.
Every blue state is a disaster. Every blue city dystopia.
@Sunshine808@america Senators should be appointed by states’ legislatures. Repeal the 17th!
The House has 2 year term limits already. We’re just too stupid to vote them out. Except in CA where there’s fraud.
@SenSanders Are you going ban taxpayer funded NGOs? Public sector unions? How about the billionaires, like @TomSteyer who are just as left as you?
I really don’t understand what the people of Vermont get by having you represent them.
@SenThomTillis@SenatorCollins Repeal the 17th!
1. Nobody should be in office that long.
2. Constitutionally, her constituents are her state’s government, not the citizens directly.
It's an interesting constitutional question that contains a paradox: federalism says CA can regulate how it wants, but the commerce clause is there to enable Congress to reduce barriers to trade between the states. What happens when a CA regulation becomes the de facto rule of the land due to CAs size? Can Congress invalidate the regulation?
@Mike_Pence At the end of the day we need the 17th Amendment repealed and every single represenetative that's served more than 2 terms to retire.
We don't need @SenSusanCollins or @grahamformaine in the Senate. One has been bad for it and the other will be worse.

@MikeLevin 1. If Congress doesn’t write the priories into law they’ve abdicated the power to set them to the President.
2. You act as if Democrat presidents don’t do the same thing.
3. Democrat presidents don’t need to be explicit because the federal bureaucracy is leftist.

The federal government shouldn’t be funding coal, or any industry for that matter. It’s not a proper constitutional function of the federal government.
I’m an equal opportunity don’t-fund-anything kind of person.
Just because something needs doing doesn’t mean the government should be doing or paying for it.
Thinking about the abomination that is dynamic pricing and how to counter it:
Post what you paid. Everyone posts what they paid. Time, date, location. Then let the internets do its thing.
@AndrewKolvet@SusanHW Don’t blame the representative. Blame those that voted for her. We get the government we deserve. Unless you’re in CA, where it’s been rigged.
@MilesTaylorUSA You really don't understand the Constitution, do you? It vests ALL executive power in the President. Congress cannot end-run the President by creating "independent" agencies. All presidents have the power to hire/fire everyone.
If you don't like it, amend the Constitution.
