I thank the GST Council & States/UTs for taking the progressive decision of fixing a uniform rate of 5% IGST on imports of aircraft parts, components, testing equipment, tools and toolkits, irrespective of HS (Harmonised System) classification — a policy that has come to fruition after extensive work & pursuance. Kudos to the MRO industry & all @MoCA_GoI officials! This decision will certainly provide the much-needed filip to the MRO industry to #MakeInIndia

Deeply saddened by the unfortunate demise of Mr. Shreyas Reddy Benigeri, a student of Indian origin in Ohio. Police investigation is underway. At this stage, foul play is not suspected.

The Consulate continues to remain in touch with the family and is extending all possible assistance to them.
