@cropdoc2@WheatPete I’m big on spraying in the fall.
I understand guys like to save $$$
Have any trials been done with doing a fall burn down instead of in the spring? Maybe move the in crop pass up a few stages? Prob more relevant for RR soybeans.
Update. First 2 pictures are from the same spots as the originals. Extra driving from rolling up hoses.
Next 2 are in the field. Corn set back that was driven on but looks great between tyre tracks
Shout out to @prolanefarming for doing another excellent job draglineing on V3 corn. Ran out at the end but that’ll tell us how much of an effect it had.
Will put progress pictures up as year goes along. @OPACA_net@manuregirl#ontag
On behalf of Beaverloch Farms, Thankyou to our family, friends and Corporate Sponsors for helping us surpass our fundraising goal for the Niagara Children’s Center. The Winter Canola fields were very popular with the general public! Thank you! 😎
@gavin_spoor There’s no quick or cheap way to do it.
I just spread the bones in the field and pick them up as the get stuck in combine head. It’s not that often. Biggest problem is the neighborhood dogs bring them home
@o2farms_sk You running a case or NH? Our Deere air seeder had to be hooked up backwards and pull the stick the other way.
No idea why it worked but it fixed the problem
@pete_90210 I’ve always found it tries to dry the top 12” of soil. As opposed to bare ground that’s drying 1”. So naturally it takes long.
But it often stays fit better with little rains because the water has somewhere to go.
Just my 2 cents
This makes me sick.
Edison Motors (@EdisonMotorsLtd), out of BC, is an amazing Canadian company trying to build electric logging trucks. Really cool stuff. So far, they've done it all without government grants.
Someone at the BC government convinced them to apply for a grant.
They applied on their own and got rejected, which really surprised the guys.
An accounting firm named MNP reached out to them, and said they could complete a re-application for them. Their fee... 20% of the amount granted by the government.
Turns out MNP is the firm also hired by the government to review and approve grant applications. So MNP acted for the grantor and the grantee, which is a conflict of interest.
Edison Motors brought this up to the government. Instead of investigating MNP, the BC government is now investigating Edison Motors. WTF?
This is how all government programs work. It's corruption.

By the way. Have you ever wondered how Google Maps is able to show traffic patterns so accurately?
They monitor everyone's mobile phone.
Your phone is actually a collection of over a half a dozen very precise sensors. You're carrying a thermometer, an altimeter, a gyroscope, an accelerometer, a light sensor, even a moisture analyzer.
That information is sold to companies who use it to predict traffic, the weather, even power failures.
Big Brother is always watching you.
@farmerschneck@WheatPete Ya I’ve been there. I’m always surprised how well it comes back. Not to full yield but decent.
I have plots this year where I doubled my first pass N to see if it helps
