250 years ago today, a colonel named John Nixon stood in a Philadelphia square and read the Declaration of Independence out loud to the public for the first time.

Under British law that was a death sentence. Speaking up for this country costs a lot less now.

96 years ago we started building the Hoover Dam. In the middle of the Great Depression, 21,000 men, a railroad, and a whole town in the desert built the tallest dam on earth. Finished early and under budget.

Try to even get a permit for that today.
