The volume "Marx for Today", which I edited in 2010, comprises 19 chapters, featuring contributions from Ellen Meiksins Wood, Rick Wolff, Kevin Anderson, Michael Lebowitz, and many other distinguished scholars. It also includes a special section on the global reception of Marx between 2000 and 2010.

Today marks the 117th birth anniversary of Comrade EMS, one of the foremost leaders of the Communist movement in India, one of the founding leaders of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), and one of the most influential communist thinkers of the country and the world.
After leaving college in 1931 to join the freedom struggle, Comrade EMS devoted nearly seven decades to building the progressive and working class movement in India. A brilliant Marxist theoretician and a prolific writer, he made outstanding contributions to the application of Marxism-Leninism to Indian society and to working out the strategy and tactics of the Indian revolution. He served as the General Secretary of the undivided Communist Party from 1962-64 and of the CPI(M) from 1978 to 1992.
EMS represented the coming together of the two streams of the independence movement, the anti-imperialist and the anti-feudal struggles, which laid the foundations for the development of a powerful communist movement in Kerala. He was one of the key proponents of Aikya Keralam, which led to the formation of Kerala as a unified linguistic state in 1956. He served twice as the Chief Minister of Kerala, heading the first elected Communist ministry until it was dismissed undemocratically in 1959 and later leading a United Front ministry from 1967-69, thereby paving the way for the state's progressive transformation.
EMS lived a life of sacrifice and simplicity, spending three years in jail and six years underground. His leadership in rallying Left, democratic, and secular forces was invaluable. Comrade EMS set an example that has inspired tens of thousands of communists across the country.
Red Salute, Comrade!

Sir, the dinosaurs are gone. But the cockroach has survived!
* Incidentally, the country's Chief Justice Surya Kant remarked that some unemployed youth behave like 'cockroaches'!
"Rebajar impuestos a los ricos conduce a una mayor desigualdad tanto en el corto como en el medio plazo, sin ningún efecto en el crecimiento económico o el desempleo"
RSS does not pay tax in India, but funnels $330,000 to lobby the US government. What are they lobbying for? What are the sources of the funds? Why is the ED and Income Tax Department not allowed to investigate?
The RSS is unregistered in India, but appears on filings before the US government. Is it registered in the US? PM Modi is an RSS member. Why is he silent? Who is he afraid of?
I shiver as I commemorate the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica. I shiver as I see that the lessons of the past are not learnt to prevent the genocide of today, nor yo heal any wounds, past and present.
Honoured to be, today and tomorrow, at the @warmfestival in Sarajevo. 🇧🇦
I am impressed (and touched) by the how many are speaking out in defense of my work. Standing united against abuse is critical, and even more critical is to stop the genocide.
TOGETHER WE CAN.

CPIM Polit Bureau Member @DrAshokDhawale on the draconian Maharashtra Special Public Security Bill introduced by the BJP-led Maharashtra state government in the name of controlling "Urban Naxals".
In the words of Nelson Mandela: it always seems impossible until it’s done.
My friends, it is done. And you are the ones who did it.
I am honored to be your Democratic nominee for the Mayor of New York City.
A fantastic illustration of Marx's searing critique of bourgeois naturalism. Deeply relevant to key strains of the Environmentalism of the Rich since Marx's time. #worldecology
