This is honestly no way to release a model and continued development and release this way is a solid way to salt the ground and kill all innovation by small startups
I was 37 when I started YC. It changed my company and my life.
I’m sharing that because a lot of founders quietly think they missed their window. Too old, too settled, should’ve done it at 25.
You haven’t missed it. The experience you think makes you late is often what lets you build.
We're excited to announce Christopher Golda (@golda) and Grey Baker (@greybaker) as YC's newest General Partners!
Chris co-founded BackType (S08), sold it to Twitter, then built their entire ad business from zero to $1B+ in revenue.
Grey co-founded Dependabot, a developer tool a million engineers rely on every single day— and sold it to GitHub. Then he co-founded Pincites (S23), which was acquired by Filevine.
As Visiting Partners, both have already spent multiple batches working closely with founders. Now they're doing it full-time. https://t.co/bP6hkkvNbO
I'm deeply grateful and honored
YC has changed my life twice: first as a founder, and now as someone who gets to back and support ambitious talent that's unproven
feel lucky to do this work, and even luckier to do it with people I admire so much
We're excited to announce Diana Hu (@sdianahu) as YC's newest Managing Partner.
Diana co-founded Escher Reality (YC S17), which was acquired by Niantic, where she shipped AR to the 100M+ people playing Pokémon GO. Since returning to YC as a partner, she has worked with nearly 230 companies that are now worth a combined $7 billion.
Few people have built a startup from zero and also shipped at global scale. Diana has done both.

We're excited about the US CLARITY Act.
We think all YC companies will use crypto technology, like stablecoins, before long. Not just crypto startups, not just fintech startups, but every company.
Here's why this law is such a big deal 🧵

I eat Aaron Peskin's hate for breakfast. Guys, we're winning. It feels good.
Aaron Peskin is no public servant. He was all along just a grifter trying to protect his views at the expense of the people.
We are the real people powered movement of San Francisco.
Just landed nested subagent support in Claude Code
Starting to experiment more with agents kicking off agents as a way to better manage context. Capped at depth=5 to start, going out in today’s release.
Lmk what you think!
In office hours with startups I often try to figure out a secret weapon they can use to protect themselves from competitors. Today to my delight I talked to one whose most natural secret weapon was to be genuinely benevolent.
I've had about as many horror stories as anyone else. One thing I will say, for everything you hear, YC is probably the best investor to have on your cap table at Seed.
If the key to becoming a billionaire is to exploit people, as some politicians claim, we at YC are idiots. We've spent the last 20 years choosing the wrong founders and teaching them the wrong things. Or maybe we do actually understand startups, and the politicians are wrong.
Two YC decacorns in one day and one of them is building commercial fusion. Polaris hit 150 million degrees C, first privately funded machine to do it. This is the abundance future, built by people who actually ship. https://t.co/calTVslNEw
At YC tonight Garry interviewed Jessica and me about the early history of YC. I'd forgotten how hard it used to be for startups to raise money after YC. Now they have the opposite problem: now there's so much money out there that they have to be careful not to raise too much.
