The above still frames are from a recent production. This is the first explainer video for the newly rebranded company, and part of the project was to develop the visual style for all future videos.
A successful animation relies on excellent design.
Yet, design isn't enough...
Words are the foundation of everything, and if the copywriting of the video isn’t aligned with the desired outcome, the entire project is an expense and not an investment.
That is why we start by taking a step back.
Videos can be a great investment for your business, but flashy visuals don't solve the real problem.
Once you can solve the problem with the right wording alone, then video becomes 10x more powerful. That is my own made-up statistic, but you get the point😅
This is great news for you.
This means you can test ideas and develop a writing style that connects to your audience.
Once you see what resonates, you double down on that with expert-crafted design, video, animation, etc.
Have you ever invested in something flashy just to realise the solution was much cheaper?
This isn’t a post against motion design, video, or design, but a reminder of where projects need to start if you expect an ROI from your videos.
If you don’t want an ROI on projects, then go ahead and make cool things 😅

Meet @paulDup_7, the creative mind behind the audio waveform design for @rive_app, bringing motion and sound together with style.

I had the privilege of collaborating with @flutterflow for their latest YouTube education endeavor.
They provided the new intro audio file, and I had to develop the visual style to match the 'Let's build' intro theme.
Designed and animated in After Effects, the MacBook and iPhone are 3D models imported into After Effects and animated.
A mix of 2D and 3D rounded off the project nicely!
Client Review: "Paul was a cut above the rest — clear communication, smooth process. Highly recommend!"

90,000+ views generated on X with short-form content.
While going viral and racking up views may look great on paper, vanity metrics alone don’t drive real results.
If those views don’t translate into engagement, whether it’s sales, website traffic, or meaningful interactions. Are they really worth chasing?
That’s why the focus shouldn’t be on views alone but on reaching one person, the ideal customer.
When you create content that speaks directly to them, solving their problem, making them feel heard, and guiding them toward action, it leads to real impact.
That might mean fewer overall views, but it ensures the right people are watching, engaging, and ultimately buying.
That said, there’s nothing wrong with a little extra reach along the way. 😉
