π Emerging Technology Convergence Game πΊ
Something to play over the weekend...
Spin the wheel three times, then try and come up with a disruptive use case that makes use of all 3 converging together...

I reckon politicians have secretly been using generative AI to write their speeches for ages. π€
β Vague, but optimistic promises.
β Catchy, but meaningless catchphrases.
β Commitment, but non-binding actions.

You may have seen the buzz on socials about #chatGPT - a generative AI for dialogue, but I had a play with it at the weekend (cos I'm exciting like that) and it blew my mind π€―
Pretty amazing results!
Going to an awards ceremony on your own may not be everyone's cup of tea, but my fellow judges at the European Software Testing Awards made me feel very welcome as we enjoyed celebrating the success of many companies.
More work to do on my mirror-selfie technique though!
Systems should not get in the way of customer experience...ever
The people at the front line need the autonomy to make sensible decisions and keep customers happy.
"Computer says no" isn't funny anymore...
Freedom and responsibility win the day!
Some of our amazing tech women at the Women in Tech festival yesterday. Great to have such a presence representing our @DunelmUK Technology team!

I recently got to be a judge for the European Software Testing Awards, here's my tips for improving your submission entries.
It won't make a poor idea good, but it could make good, better!

Politicians keep using the vague phrase "working people" when talking about who they want to benefit...But why not just say "people"? Specifically excluding kids, the unemployed and pensioners seems a bit harsh
...and of course those with vast amounts of inherited wealth π²

I really enjoyed judging the entries for the European Software Testing Awards. There were some fantastic entries, including some Dunelm ones (although they were obviously hidden from me).
Good luck to everyone who submitted!
Really enjoyed being part of a panel chatting about how to confidently enable agility at the Code First Girls: CODEFEST event recently. A great event helping to power more diversity in technology!
How important is it to you, to be a Woman in Tech?
This weekβs tale from Clare Coates is all about her journey and how she balances self-study, a day job, family life and of course keeping her pipeline running!

The aim is to be agile, not do agile
Technologists can get hung up on what it means to be agile. If you're at the Code First Girls: Codefest event on Friday, come and listen to our tech talk about what what it means to us and how we enable it at Dunelm.
See you there!
All hail Roboboss!
The beginning of the end? The end of the beginning? ...or just a clickbaity gimick to get some PR?
A board position, backed by smart contracts I could sort of buy into...But an AI powered robot CEO does seem a bit much...
