Most buyers think the land registry is where you “get a title.”
That’s how people get conned.
A title is just the surface.
The truth is in the registry system.
What to check:
• Land register - real ownership
• Cadastral map - actual boundaries
• Parcel file - full history
• Georeferenced plans - exact location
• Presentation book - all transactions involving the land
• Proprietor index - ownership links
• Power of attorney - seller authority
You can access all this by paying a small fee.
If you only check the title, it is safe to say you are gambling.
The High Court yesterday made a very important decision. When you take a loan from any lending institution, the amount of interest accrued cannot exceed the amount you received from the institution (principal). Meaning if you borrow kshs. 100,000, you cannot pay more than kshs.200,000 in total. This is good news to many Kenyans. Tag that one lending institution wajionee habari kamili.
I successfully sued The Tunnel Club after thieves broke into my car and stole a laptop, while I was in the club.
Clubs owe a duty of care to their customers who have parked within their premises.
If you suffer a car break-ins, sue and teach negligent clubs a lesson.
This is Toxicologist Yvonne Burkart.
She's spent years researching what's REALLY damaging our bodies.
Her message? We have no idea just how toxic our modern lifestyle is...
Here are 8 things you need to STOP doing (they're poisoning your body):
Today, I spent time in two large public hospitals.
I witnessed and followed first hand how Kenyans who previously registered and paid for NHIF (through self or through employer) could not access care because their dependants’ data couldn’t be traced in the ‘system’.
Long lines of people with weak and sick loved ones waiting for assistance from frustrated and dejected employees broke my heart. The employees made frantic calls bypassing even their immediate bosses to ‘vendor developers of the system’ in an effort to get way forward for the patients before them.
One characteristic about Kenyan people who sit in high offices and make decisions is that they have no clue what the patients and frontline employees go through. And so they dismiss complains as ‘teething problems’ when in reality, it is torrents of tears and terror on the ground.
And just to imagine large hospitals having challenges with all their networks, what patients maybe experiencing in smaller facilities across the country is unimaginable.
I really wish we cared just a little about people’s lives and knew that they literally depend on these decisions of government.
Let’s be humane, if we can’t be competent.

Freedom of speech is the bedrock of democracy. If the truth is suppressed, it is impossible to make an informed voting decision.
The degree to which freedom of speech is being undermined around the world is extremely alarming.
