Scotland at the World Cup: won all but two games; lost to the top-10 teams we played; home with no trophy.
England at the World Cup: won all but two games; lost to the top-10 team they played; home with no trophy.
Same tournament 🤷🏻♂️ at least we came home to decent tap water! 😂
7 - England have been eliminated every time they have faced a top 10 ranked nation in the knockout stages of the FIFA World Cup since 1998 (7/7).
Obstacle.

@more_josh23@bordersbankie@OfficialSLFL Where is this coming from? The deadline was 31st March. One 2nd April they were 3rd - 4 points off top with a game in hand.
If you go 1st March, they were 13 off top, with 3 games in hand.
The title was always within reach. They decided not to achieve Bronze. That's on them.
@Rangers_Spares_@joemandy81 That's not what you said though. What you said about the Laws was entirely wrong.
If a ref felt it was part of his natural running movement, then he wouldn't give it as a handball and the goal stands. Which is what happened.
That part's open to opinion/interpretation though.
@Rangers_Spares_@joemandy81 That's an AI answer and isn't the current Laws of the Game. My screenshot is from the 2025/26 Laws in the IFAB App. As is this one from the Q&A section…
The ref and VARs interpretation is spot on - if they believe it was accidental and didn't make his body unnaturally bigger.
@Rangers_Spares_@joemandy81 The Laws of the Game doesn't state that though…
He didn't score directly from his hand/arm.
He didn't score immediately after the ball touched his hand/arm.

@Paul__Madden@DavidBeveridg18@SPFLpyramid@SpamRogic_ It's the counter to the "dead rubber" games. Teams 6-12 likely have less to play for near the end of the season, so managers are more likely to play young players. Hard to play youth when you're under pressure chasing Europe or scrapping for survival.
So the argument goes.

@BanksFace21 @RRHath1@henrycmckenna He's a 'defensive' coach. He took the Pats defence from Top 10 to bottom 2 in the space of a year.
All he had to do was not regress on the side of the ball he specialises in, and the team would improve on last year. He couldn't do that.
Dear #WhiskySanta, please may you put @gordon_macphail Scapa 34yo 1988 #10586 from @MasterofMalt under my tree? I've been really good this year! https://t.co/nQCTFl3tyV
