You don't see how that's circular? You can't invoke the term in question to define the term; that establishes nothing.

Allow me to explain the problem.

Catholics do not worship Mary but venerate her. Regardless of the distinction, you say it's the same thing. By collapsing the distinction between veneration and worship, and instead saying they're the same thing, that collapses your entire faith.

Thousands of Old Testament figures who bowed to golden Cherubim [Ex. 25], bowing to kings [1 Ki. 1], and, by command in the New Testament to greet one with a holy kiss [Ro. 16; 1 Cor. 16; 2 Cor. 13; 1 Thess. 5; 1 Pet. 5]--all signs of veneration--are actually examples of idolatry in your paradigm.

This puts you in a dilemma; if you collapse the distinction between veneration and worship, then you omit the entire Bible.

1. In your paradigm, you omit your own ability to relate uniquely to God. You are merely venerating Him, and by extension, you worship everyone but God.

2. However, if you grant the veneration/worship distinction, you then have to concede that Catholics do not worship Mary.

This is the issue you've created, which you must answer, and it's quite frankly, a far larger problem for you than your accusation of me.
