@ArtisanalSudoku Finding Split Deicision quite tricky. I think I've found part one of the break-in, but not sure how to follow on. Where can these puzzles be discussed? Do you have a Discord or hang out on the CtC Discord?
@chessandpoker You want the strategy of the game spoiled for you in the rulebook? Part of the excitement of games for me is that journey of discovery - the rulebook tells me what I can do, but experience with the game tells me what I should do - and if I got it wrong I’ll play again!
@chessandpoker Scotland Yard (catch the bad guy before time runs out), most asymmetric games like Villainous, Tsuro (outlive everyone), Escape Room games (solve the puzzle), Killer Bunnies abstracts VPs away under the Magic Carrot, basically every co-op game, racing game (Flamme Rouge), chess
@ZachWeiner The rules of the game of go are extremely simple. The strategy to win is not.
See also, the shape of the mandlebrot sense is far weirder than the equation to produce it would suggest.
@SamuelHBlack This is the point of playing poker for a stake-it forces the game from light mode to heavy mode-everyone tries to win when their money is in the pot.
I recognise this distinction and I’m glad you put words to it. I can switch from light to heavy based on my mood and the game.
@ZachWeiner I don’t limit screen time, but I love boardgames so I do try to actively encourage some interaction to happen away from a screen.
But I also love video games so I can hardly stop the enthusiasm I show playing a good platformer (Mario, Celeste, VVVVVV) from becoming contagious.
