There is little appetite for war among American citizens. The WWII gen is gone. Most Americans have no memory of winning a war or fighting for a good cause. We only remember disasters.
I wish this aversion comforted me, but our officials don’t care what we think. They want war.
Palestinians are expected to be peaceful before the massacres begin. They’re asked to be peaceful after the massacres end. And they’re called terrorists when they take up arms while the massacres are happening. They are expected to be polite victims by those who don’t care.
Biden has no ability to cancel student loan debt (which he actually can by law) but has the ability to bypass congress to send weapons to Israel (which he actually can’t by law)
This has been said but it bears repeating: so much of the callous indifference towards the mass killing and destruction of Gaza is rooted in racism, bigotry, cultural superiority. The world stopped when the Notre Dame caught fire but allows the destruction of Gaza’s heritage.
This thread will result in more death threats to me, but it must be said.
If Israel actually wanted to abolish Hamas, they’ve know exactly how to do it: end the blockade to dissolve every condition that gave rise to Hamas.

EU diplomat tells me that given the pace of bombing, without the US replenishing Israel's arsenal, Israel would have to end the war within days.
So Biden is directly responsible for the deaths of Gaza civilians, particularly since he bypasses Congress to rush weapons to Israel.

a journalist caught an israeli soldier about to throw a grenade at MEDICS, ER RESPONDERS, AMBULANCE and JOURNALISTS but he stopped when she caught him on camera. this is why reposting about what’s going on in Palestine is so important

Yeah it’s extremely gross, and incidentally, the same logic the US used to justify killing 3-4 million Vietnamese civilians, or about 10 percent of their entire population. Convenient that it worked out that way, the whole population volunteering to be human shields
