My opinion on the Honourable Prime Minister's appeal.
1) Save petrol and diesel.
Common people do not have money to waste on fuel. Most people already think 10 times before going anywhere because petrol prices, tolls, and daily expenses are very high. Instead of telling citizens, first fix traffic, bad roads, long jams, and unnecessary VIP convoys that block roads just to show power. Thousands of litres of fuel are wasted in MLA MP rallies, political roadshows, huge convoys, and hundreds of unnecessary cars moving together every day. Why are only ordinary citizens expected to sacrifice?
2) Avoid foreign trips and destination weddings.
Most Indians cannot even afford normal vacations. Common people save money for years for one family function or small trip. Meanwhile, rich people, celebrities, politicians, and businessmen freely spend crores on luxury weddings abroad and foreign vacations. Why are moral lessons always given to ordinary citizens while the rich continue their lifestyle?
3) Stop buying gold.
Why are all instructions always for middle class families and common people? For many Indians, gold is not luxury, it is emergency security, family savings, and support during difficult times.
4) Bring back the work from home culture.
Employees cannot decide WFH policies on their own. Instead of telling common people to save fuel, why not order companies to allow WFH?
5) Stop importing foreign products.
People are told to support local products, but many leaders, celebrities, and wealthy people themselves use imported luxury cars, foreign phones, branded clothes, expensive watches, and international products. If “buy local” is truly important, then people in power should lead by example first. Patriotism should not become a rule only for the middle class while the rich enjoy every foreign luxury freely.
