Manusmriti covers a variety of topics like the origin of our universe, general hygiene, social etiquette, ethics, duties of a householder, duties of the civil servants and the rulers. Many of the topics overlap and match with the #BhagavadGita. Overall it’s a beautiful book that has much to offer to the reader. Only condition being that impurities in its text are recognized and ignored.

As far as the treatment of women is concerned, there are some quotable quotes in there about how to venerate the women in our home and society in this book. I’m presenting some of them here along with their translation.

पितृभिर्भ्रातृभिश्चैता: पतिभिर्देवरैस्तथा।
पूज्या भूषयितव्याश्च बहुकल्याणमीप्सुभि:॥

The women must be honored and adorned by their fathers, brothers, husbands, and brothers-in-law if they desire their own ample prosperity.

यत्र नार्यस्तु पूज्यन्ते रमन्ते तत्र देवता:।
यत्रैतास्तु न पूज्यन्ते सर्वास्तत्राफला: क्रिया:॥

Where women are honored, gods are pleased; but where they are not honored, all efforts are rendered fruitless.

शोचन्ति जामयो यत्र विनश्यत्याशु तत्कुलम्।
न शोचन्ति तु यत्रैता वर्धते तद्धि सर्वदा॥

The clan where the women (daughters and daughters-in-law) live in grief is quickly destroyed. However, the clan where they do not grieve always prospers and rises.

जामयो यानि गेहानि शपन्त्यप्रतिपूजिता:।
तानि कृत्याहतानीव विनश्यन्ति समन्तत:॥

यस्मिन्नेव कुले नित्यं कल्याणं तत्र वै ध्रुवम्॥

In a family where the husband is pleased with his wife, and the wife is equally pleased with her husband, well-being and auspiciousness are certainly permanent.

सुवासिनी: कुमारीश्च रोगिणो गर्भिणी: स्त्रियः।
अतिथिम्योऽग्र एवैतान्भोजयेदविचारयन्॥

One should serve food to a married daughter visiting her father's house, an unmarried daughter, a pregnant woman, and a sick person even before serving a guest, without hesitation.

Now the question is why would the author who wrote these verses also write verses that are the direct opposite of these in intent? Clearly there have been many miscreants who messed with our scriptures to create confusion over the 11000 years since this book was first created. 🙏

There is a US religious freedom body called USCIRF.

It is now demanding sanctions against India’s intelligence agency RAW, and the RSS.

Most of the media coverage focuses simply on the fact that this is "USCIRF", an American body. But what the media won’t tell you is that:

The current Chair and Commissioner of USCIRF is Dr. Asif Mahmood, a Pakistani who moved to the USA in the 1990s, later obtained U.S. citizenship, and took up activism.

The other point that deserves scrutiny is his own background and his views about India, Kashmir, the Ram Mandir, and the CAA. If you check his old posts on these topics, you will get an idea of his ideological views against India.

So, when USCIRF makes recommendations for sanctions against RAW, the media should also examine the backgrounds and ideology of the individuals leading the Commission, rather than looking only at the label "USCIRF".

Dlatego ja w ten weekend dałem synom prezent odwrotny. Trzy dni wakacji bez wygód: spali w aucie i pod namiotem. Jedli mielonkę z puszki. Zamiast pada dostali scyzoryk. Bunkry, zamki, słowiańskie osady, brud za paznokciami i kąpiele w jeziorze.

Stać mnie na pięć gwiazdek i właśnie dlatego ich nie wybrałem.

Bo współczesny rodzic ma jedną religię: żeby dziecku było wygodnie. Wygodnie w domu, wygodnie w aucie, wygodnie na wakacjach. A potem to samo dziecko, dwadzieścia lat później, ma nerwicę i podniesiony kortyzol, kiedy coś nie dzieje się tak, jak chce. Mam dość tego, co robimy dzieciom, wmawiając sobie, że "dajemy im to, co najlepsze".

Gówno prawda. To nie jest dawanie, to jest zabieranie.

Zwykły, fizyczny głód po całym dniu łażenia po bunkrach, przy którym mielonka z puszki smakuje jak stek. I zmęczenie, po którym w aucie zasypia się w połowie zdania, szybciej niż w penthousie na królewskim materacu.

A wieczorami, przy kuchence, działo się coś, czego nie widziałem od miesięcy. Zaczęli GADAĆ. Nie o Minecrafcie, youtuberach i 67 tylko o tym co czuje, o strachach, o tym kim chcą być kiedyś. Chłopak nie otwiera się kiedy TY chcesz żeby to się stało- przy stole na godzinnym "quality time". Otwiera się w trzeciej dobie męczącej podróży w której coś naprawdę przeżył i doświadczył i jest z siebie dumy, bo odpowiada za całą resztę sam gotując kolację albo nawigując całą podróż za pomocą mapy.

Nie mówię, że All inclusive plus jest złe, kiedyś też tak pojedziemy ale dopiero kiedy już będą wiedzieli, że to nagroda. A nie norma.
