This blog beautifully articulates something that I have been thinking about

A thick desire is one that changes you in the process of pursuing it.
A thin desire is one that doesn't.
@TheKatareKid@JayeshSidhwani For me the lesson was that the product with the best tech/product doesn't always win. Sure TinyOwl's app was better to use but the overall experience for the customer was maybe better with Swiggy. IMO TinyOwl lost because of sub optimal business decisions and not the tech
@TheKatareKid@JayeshSidhwani TinyOwl wanted the restaurant to handle delivery vs Swiggy had their own delivery folks. Swiggy's approach seemed less scalable but won over TinyOwl's as they had a more consistent overall experience. They could ensure faster delivery and consistent packaging.
For the second episode of Codekar, we have @pawan_rawal with us. Pawan has extensive experience managing a massive tech scale.
Key Highlights for me
- Good developers gain happiness from building something that users use.
- How to evaluate a startup before joining, he was Employee number 11 at @getpostman and Employee number 1 at @dgraphlabs
- Why it is important to spend a good amount of time at one company to have a good career overall
Pawan embodies that you can be zen-like, even if you manage a crazy scale at Work.

@levelsio@aditthya Apple/Google Pay is great and a really pleasant experience to use. What makes UPI interesting is that it gave millions of small and big vendors in India the ability to accept digital payments without buying any infrastructure (credit card/Apple Pay machine)
@akothari The Hooker Valley trail is beautiful in Mount Cook. If you want to be more adventurous then Ben Lomond Summit or Roys peak are good. Also would recommend some time in Wanaka, it's beautiful
Chronosphere has officially acquired Calyptia, creators of leading observability pipelines and the popular Fluent Bit open source project! 🌐
A warm welcome to the Calyptia team—here's to us building the future of observability, together. https://t.co/GwPc2Xuytr
We think of our success as an obligation to give forward and do our bit for the betterment of society. This philosophy is what keeps me, @nikhilkamathcio, Kailash (K), & others at @zerodha still excited to do better as a business. 1/3
Worth watching, the crypto community has been trying hard to find problems to which the "solution" is their coin. They have manufactured problems where none exist to get rich off retail investors. Cryptokitties and NFTs are perfect examples.

Bitdiots like @bukele still claim bitcoin is "cheap".
Truth is that EVEN if it rose to 100K, it has failed.
Not only did it NOT DELIVER as a hedge ag. inflation, war, etc., but has acted w/opposite properties.
Change your mind facing evidence.
@manishrjain That’s sad to hear, Manish. I have seen you put your heart and soul into building this so I can’t even imagine how hard it would be for you. My best wishes are with you on whatever you do next!
Beyond the huge success that Canva has become, the vision of the founders to do the most good is truly inspiring. A deep respect for the founders of this company!

@jonathannen At this stage it doesn’t look like we’ll be able to control this. The only options seems to be to get the vaccination to more than 80% and open things up.
