Big race Brian Sears taking it home with a $177 winner today on #Hambo20 day. Really love betting @TheMeadowlands and the Standardbreds. Brought me back up for the year.
Congratulations to driver David Miller as he broke John Campbell’s record for All-Time North American Earnings today at Miami Valley in the 2nd race.

The Athletic: Why horses turn Nikola Jokić from an NBA MVP into a ‘stable boy’
The following story was published Monday, Dec. 29 on The Athletic website at https://t.co/naTu29rKBa. Since a subscription is required, the article is printed in it’s entirety below.
One of the most viral videos of Nikola Jokić’s career will likely go down of him being selected in the second round of the 2014 NBA Draft as a Taco Bell commercial played on the screen. Another viral video of The Joker has nothing to do with him playing basketball at all.

Sky box (Bruce Ranger) Edges Past Just Roxy, Puts Go For Glory Stable in Winner’s Circle (Nov. 17)
15,000 Trot – Non Winners $5,000 Last 5 Starts – Monday, November 17, 2025
From the mid-pack, Just Roxy ((Matthew Athearn) hustled out for the lead right from the start. Long Dan (Kevin Switzer Jr) tracked along the inside, while Poppy Wow (James Hardy) and Sky box (Bruce Ranger) positioned on the outside.
Just Roxy quickly drew clear, pacing the opening quarter in 28.0 seconds. By the paddock turn, she maintained a solid lead over Long Dan and Poppy Wow. As they hit the backstretch, Sky box moved up on the outside, keeping the pressure on Just Roxy.
Through three-quarters in 1:26.1, Just Roxy still led, but Sky box kept a persistent challenge. Coming off the final turn, the two battled stride for stride. In the stretch, Sky box surged ahead, just edging past Just Roxy at the wire, while Poppy Wow and Lightning Fast closed in for the minor placings.
Skybox took the win in 1:57.0, trained by Paul Kelley and owned by Paul Kelley Racing Stable & Go For Glory Racing Stable.

Glen McNeil’s Top Picks for Today’s Big Card! Get ready for the excitement as the $1.2 million Massachusetts Breeders Stakes finals take center stage—here’s where the action starts!
𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝟏 – $𝟏𝟓𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐬 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 – 𝟐-𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫-𝐎𝐥𝐝 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 - #𝟓 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐲 𝐈𝐧 𝐌𝐲 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 – Offers the best value in the field, having been consistent all season with 8 starts, 4 wins, and three 3rd-place finishes. Dexter Dunn has driven her throughout the year and knows her well. #𝟔 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐎𝐮𝐭 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 – The likely betting favorite after dominating her last two starts, but she’s shown some breaking issues this season, including one in the PASS Final at Philadelphia. #𝟕 𝐄𝐥𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐞𝐧– Ultra-consistent, always finds the board, and should be rolling late from off the pace. #𝟏 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢 – A live longshot from the rail. Nicholas Graffam and George Ducharme have a knack for pulling off upsets in these finals, so don’t overlook her at a price.
𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 - 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝟐 - #𝟔 𝐌𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞- Made a break last week, but before that was razor-sharp with first and second-place finishes in stakes action here at Plainridge. Listed at 4-1 on the morning line, this one should be closing from off the pace if there’s a quick tempo early. #𝟑 𝐓𝐞 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐲 should go off as the favorite after two strong wins in stakes action. Expect to be on the lead early, but the question is — can hang on this time in the final? #𝟓 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢 𝐌𝐚𝐧 should be closing late and will be near the lead — any fast pace up front could set him up to take it all. #1 Castel Lindy is expected to get a perfect pocket trip with Yannick Gingras in the bike.
𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐭 - 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝟑 - #𝟐 𝐓𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢- Coming off five straight wins and having dominated stakes action at Plainridge, this one draws well, has plenty of speed, and looks ready to get the job done again in the final. #𝟑 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞 should be sitting comfortably just behind the leader.
𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐭 - 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝟒 - #𝟏 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫`𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢- Was set to win last week but broke at the top of the stretch. Hoping everything is straightened out for this stake final, the horse should be on the lead again. #𝟔 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜 won easily last week thanks to Mother’s Moni breaking. Geologic should be the post-time favorite, and if Mother’s Moni slips again, Geologic is set to take the win.
𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 - 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝟔 - #𝟑 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫- An absolute winning machine at Plainridge, aside from last week’s third-place finish — and it didn’t look like they were asking for much that day. Draws well on the inside, has plenty of speed, and with Yannick Gingras in the bike at a 3-1 morning line, looks poised for a big rebound in the final. #𝟓 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐂𝐫𝐲 is a live longshot who hasn’t missed the board in stakes action at Plainridge. Versatile type who can show speed or come from off the pace.#𝟐 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐓𝐨 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 will likely go off as the favorite after winning last week’s stakes race following a short break. We’ll try to beat today, but if you’re playing the Pick 4, a must-use on the ticket.
