Every heathland course I’m sure battles with gorse and stopping it spreading everywhere. 3 years ago we put in heather plugs and spread brash over an area where heather had once been. Whilst the heather is doing great the gorse was taking over. Step in @pgcgolf 💪💪💪🪓🪓

Great day yesterday at the fabulous Wallasey GC. @johnmac150 has the course in fab condition especially as a bluenose 🤪 As per @ChrisMHarding suggestion got a great souvenir 👍👍

New 5th tees had a cut today. These were the worst tees on the course and have been transformed. Irrigation being dug in as well for the cracking summer 😎☀️🌞

Another 800 heather plugs gone it today on the new mounding on our 10th hole. The team have been working hard to make our natural sand more acidic. It has dropped from 7 to 5.3 which should help the heather thrive. One of our many projects to restore the heathland on our course

New fairway bunker on our 15th hole “Sandpit” taking shape. The bunker has moved a bit more in to the fairway, but made quite a bit smaller than old one. With the tee moving up 10 yards it’s also a bit more in range! Asks the question of the golfer in what their strategy will be
