On Memorial Day, we pay tribute to the brave men and women in uniform who gave their lives for this country that we love. It is a debt we can never fully repay, but we must never stop trying. I’ll always be grateful to our fallen heroes and their families, whose sacrifice reminds us of what it means to live for something greater than ourselves.
13 years ago today, April 20, 2013, Neil Diamond made a surprise, unannounced appearance at Fenway Park to sing "Sweet Caroline" during the 8th inning of the Boston Red Sox game against the Kansas City. It was announced later that he would donate all royalties from the song to the One Fund Boston to benefit Marathon Bombings victims.
Dick Hoyt ran the Boston Marathon 32 times pushing his son Rick.
Rick once said, “Dad, when I’m running, it feels like I’m not even handicapped.”
A Boston Legacy.

Let's run that back. One more time... Or two?
Our crew is now safely back on Earth. Relive the historic mission, and keep an eye on our website as more images and videos keep rolling in. https://t.co/FoYXKVvve5
Moon joy [noun]
the feeling of intense happiness and excitement that only comes from a mission to the Moon
The Artemis II crew bring us endless Moon joy.
“You can see the surface of the Moon…we just went sci-fi.”
On flight day seven, images from our @NASAArtemis II crew amazed, turning science fiction to reality. From the lunar far side to a solar eclipse from the Moon, the views are EVERYTHING. No pressure to pick a favorite.
BREAKING: The Artemis II astronauts are further from Earth than any humans have ever traveled.
Just before 2 p.m. Eastern time, the crew members broke the record of 248,655 miles away from Earth.
The previous record was set by the Apollo 13 astronauts in April of 1970.
"On April 15, 1970, during the Apollo 13 mission, three explorers set the record for the farthest distance humans have ever traveled from our home planet," said capsule communicator Jenni Gibbons.
"At that time, over 55 years ago, Lovell, Swigert and Haise flew 248,655 statute miles away from Earth. Today, for all humanity, you’re pushing beyond that frontier."
The crew will reach their maximum distance from Earth at about 252,760 miles in about four hours.
🚨🔥 JUST IN: The Artemis II crew just dropped a hilarious video styled like an old-school 1980s sitcom (FULL HOUSE) while cruising toward the lunar flyby.
“I’m the space plumber, I’m proud to call myself the space plumber.”
Mission specialists like @Astro_Christina train for all roles so they can jump in wherever they’re needed. Sometimes that means fixing vital machinery, like the spacecraft toilet.
NEW: NASA's Artemis II has successfully blasted off, launching toward the Moon for the first lunar voyage in 53 years.
Here is what to expect next:
- Mission is 10 total days.
- The crew will get 5000 miles from the Moon's surface.
- The crew will sleep in two four-hour periods.
- On Day 2, Orion engines will accelerate the spacecraft to escape velocity and send them toward the Moon.
- On Days 3-5, the crew will fine-tune the approach to the Moon.
- Day 6 is when the crew flies by the Moon. They will be about 250,000 miles from the Earth.
- Days 6-7, the crew will fine-tune their approach back to Earth.
- On Day 10, the crew will put on their proper suits and get ready for reentry.
- They will reenter Earth's atmosphere at 25,000 miles per hour.
- Two parachutes will slow the capsule to 17 miles per hour.
- They will splash down off the coast of San Diego, California.

🎨✨ A new Banksy mural has appeared in London — once again about children and hope
The artwork was spotted in the Bayswater area, and Banksy has already confirmed its authenticity on Instagram.
Two children in winter clothes are lying directly on the ground, with one of them pointing up at the sky.
There are several interpretations: the children are “at the bottom,” yet still looking upward — a possible reference to Christmas, or to Oscar Wilde’s line about how even from a ditch you can see the stars ⭐
As with Banksy’s work — few words, maximum meaning.
