@GoogleGuacamole Learning Styles premise is that we only have one best way of learning and if taught in a different way I won’t learn as well. UDL presents material in multiple ways to give me the best opportunity to learn or show my learning and preference may vary depending on topic.
"Device ownership alone doesn't make people digitally literate" Great article about our "digital native" student population.

@mrlibrarydude Michael Simon’s restaurant on 4th St is awesome! Also check out the theater district. It is the second largest next to NYC. There is a huge chandelier hanging over the intersection. I also second the Art Museum and check out Case Western’s thinkbox.
These things -- not "prestige" -- make college valuable:
- Getting to know professors who make learning exciting & care about you personally
- Working on a project across several semesters
- Internships
- Deep involvement in 1 or 2 extracurriculars

...this is also true in other arenas where it's seldom noticed. Take academic cheating: We focus on deterring, catching, & blaming kids who break the rules even though research shows cheating is largely a function of what & how they're taught: https://t.co/h98zLPBWcb 2/2
2/2 When will people who conduct or describe ed. research realize that test scores, as a dozen books (in addition to mine) have shown, don't reflect meaningful intellectual capacities? Indeed, interventions that do raise test scores often UNDERMINE real learning
How are you personalizing your professional development and training so you are engaging your employees. Make them feel it’s customized just for them to learn and grow.

Turnitin to Be Acquired by Advance Publications for $1.75B.
So, that's what all that student Intellectual property is worth. How much of that $1.75B do you think is going to the students who have fed their database for years? I have a pretty good guess: zero billion.
once more for the people in the back: TECH BY ITSELF CAN'T MAKE EDUCATIONAL CHANGE.

New study finds that training teachers to be more "autonomy-supportive" (which includes giving students more say about both what and how they learn) was beneficial regardless of kids' level of interest in the subject (in this case, physics): https://t.co/S7eMrajGs4
