Or - an addition, not a criticism: find some creative goal that you can dedicate your time and energy to.
It doesn't have to bring you money or fame, but it has to be something that you can look back and think "this exists because I do."
The Government has decided to formulate an Inbound Labour Migration Policy for Sri Lanka aimed at regulating foreign workers entering the country for employment purposes, according to Cabinet decisions.
Cabinet noted that while Sri Lanka has traditionally focused on managing overseas employment opportunities for Sri Lankans, requests are now being made in several sectors to recruit foreign workers with skilled, semi-skilled and specialist expertise.

A pretty obvious fact, but useful data. Western Province, which accounts for 42% of Sri Lanka's GDP in 2024, has more than 40% of those with a degree or above.
Census data is out and the @LankaSTAT have eveloped this cool dashboard with @UNFPASriLanka

A surprising number of people were interested in my solar setup and have been asking me how to go about doing it, so I wrote a brief guide. It goes into the basics in as much detail as I know.

So insightful to learn more about Prof Obeyesekere’s early influences and his adventures related to his work on Goddess Pathini and religious symbols. Had to track down a hard copy but it was so worth it!

The #UN carbon market counts every tonne from a woman's cooking stove in Myanmar, but nothing from war emissions destroying our air, oceans & soil.
Women pay. Militaries don't. Climate criminals avoid accountability while the planet burns.

Calling poets, painters, photographers, and performers: what will you thread?
This #CommonwealthDay, we are creating the first virtual Commonwealth Quilt, a digital tapestry made from creative work across the Commonwealth.
Inspired by Commonwealth Poet Laureate Selina Tusitala Marsh, we invite you to respond to a single prompt: ‘Thread’.
Dancers thread movement between bodies. Musicians thread melody through rhythm. Painters thread colour. Storytellers thread narrative. Photographers thread light.
What thread do you bring to the Commonwealth?
We welcome submissions across visual, literary and performing arts, including painting, photography, poetry, music, dance, spoken word and short film. Both artists and non-artists can participate. You can submit as an individual or a group.
All eligible submissions will be displayed in the virtual Commonwealth Quilt. Up to three submissions per region will be selected for a physical exhibition during the Commonwealth People’s Forum and will receive a £200 award.
The submission window runs from 9 March to 9 May 2026.
