Nobody should be digging for change or stressing over parking fees when they’re at the hospital.

That’s why, starting May 1, parking will be free at all Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health facilities.

This change means less stress for patients, families, and healthcare workers. It’s one more way we’re making healthcare more accessible and focused on what really matters — getting people the care they need.

Some locations will have a quick validation system to make sure spaces are there for those actually visiting or working in the building. And we’re stepping up to cover the cost so hospital foundations aren’t left with a gap.

It’s a simple fix that removes a barrier and makes a real difference.
