From Bua in Vanua Levu to the shores of Kadavu, the Yasawas, Lomaiviti and Beqa — Fiji’s remote health centres are shining brighter than ever. ☀️
Under the QUAD Climate Initiative, @isolaralliance with funding support from @MEAIndia, has successfully solarized healthcare facilities across some of Fiji’s remotest communities, delivering clean, reliable and sustainable energy where it matters most.
This is more than solar power — it’s safer healthcare, stronger communities and a healthier future for every Fijian. #Fiji #SolarEnergy #ClimateAction #Healthcare #QUAD #SustainableDevelopment

Decentralised solar is positioned as a commercially viable, large-scale energy initiative, not merely a rural welfare scheme. With an 18 GW programme underway in Madhya Pradesh, one of the largest globally, the approach integrates solar with storage and grid infrastructure.
Bhutan has installed solar-powered cold storage units in Paro and Zhemgang, each with a 5MT capacity, with support from the International Solar Alliance.
These facilities are helping farmers reduce post-harvest losses, extend the shelf life of their produce, and secure better market prices, thereby strengthening rural incomes while reinforcing Bhutan’s carbon-negative vision, a defining element of the nation’s environmental commitment.
