@teaboardofindia The recent devastating flood has severely affected the Small Tea Growers of Betbari, Sivasagar, Assam. Our tea gardens remained waterlogged for several days, causing extensive defoliation, damage to tender shoots and serious stress to the tea bushes.

A landmark moment for wildlife conservation in India!

On #EndangeredSpeciesDay, the country’s first satellite-tagged Ganges softshell turtle was released at @kaziranga_, marking a significant step towards scientific wildlife conservation and species monitoring.

The vibrant Indian Pitta (𝑷𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒂 𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒚𝒖𝒓𝒂), also called the ‘Navrang’ for its stunning nine-colour plumage, has been spotted for the first time ever in Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary!

Kudos to bird photographer Debajit Nath Dhunu for capturing this rare beauty, and to Naruttam Deka for the initial sighting. Special thanks to Umesh Deka and Pallav Pranjal for their support in documenting this exciting record.
