🚨 PAEDOPHILE WHO FILMED HIMSELF ABUSING A TODDLER JAILED FOR 14 YEARS

Andrew McAdam, 36, of Mayfield, Edinburgh, sexually abused a baby aged between 12 and 18 months over five months, filming the abuse and sharing footage with another offender.

But his offending went even further. The High Court in Glasgow heard that McAdam remotely encouraged and incited Connor Cashmore to rape a separate young boy in England. Cashmore was sentenced separately to 20 years in prison.

McAdam was caught after a Greater Manchester Police investigation linked him to indecent images found on another offender’s phone. Police Scotland examined his devices and uncovered communications with multiple offenders, including encouragement to abuse children and the sharing of child sexual abuse material.

His crimes also included sexual communications, sexual exposure and public indecency. He even filmed himself exposing himself on the upper deck of a bus in Edinburgh city centre.

The toddler’s parents described the devastating impact on their family, including the fear of one day having to explain to their son what had been done to him.

Lord Scott said McAdam had shown no convincing or meaningful remorse and had minimised his responsibility. The judge described his culpability and the harm caused as extremely high.

McAdam admitted nine charges covering March 2023 to September 2024.

He received an extended sentence of 14 years — ten-and-a-half years in custody followed by three-and-a-half years on licence.

He was also placed on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely and given an indefinite order prohibiting contact with his direct victim.

A child barely out of infancy was subjected to prolonged sexual abuse, while the offender encouraged further abuse of another child.

🚨 CLEANING COMPANY DIRECTOR WHO SEXUALLY ASSAULTED A 16-YEAR-OLD GIRL WALKS FREE OF PRISON

Peter Soares, 46, from Chippenham, subjected a teenage girl to three sexual assaults in a single day in May 2022.

He cornered the 16-year-old in a bathroom, put his hands down her top and grabbed her breasts. He then touched her genital area through her clothing before taking her hands and rubbing them against his penis over his trousers.

A jury convicted Soares of three counts of sexual assault. He was acquitted of two further counts.

In her victim impact statement, the girl described herself as “young, vulnerable and still trying to find my place in the world”.

She said Soares had exploited her trust, leaving her frightened, ashamed and deeply traumatised. Describing the lasting impact, she told the court: “The pain has never left me.”

Recorder Donald Tait acknowledged the heartache and anguish caused by the offences, which he said crossed the custody threshold. He also criticised Soares for failing to accept full responsibility.

Despite this, Soares was handed a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence, suspended for two years.

He was also ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work and pay £4,380 in costs.

The victim was just 16. The jury convicted him of three sexual assaults. The sentence means he will not serve immediate prison time.

A grandmother of 8 still wakes up screaming at night.
@postoffice prosecuted her in open court, which is a very efficient way to inform a whole village.

Allison Henderson ran the small village post office in Worstead, Norfolk. In 2010 a Post Office's computer, said £12K was missing. Computers never get things wrong, so naturally she was the suspect..

Auditors arrived on 10 February 2010 and first said £18K was gone. A couple of hours later the figure fell to £12K, the fastest discount in Norfolk. She was suspended without pay that same day..

She says Post Office investigators then accused her of theft and marched her to the car park to see if her cheap Proton was worth taking.

Her lawyers advised her to plead guilty to false accounting, which means signing off figures that were wrong, so the theft charge would be dropped. She says she was terrified of prison and was told not to mention Horizon in court..

A fair trial with the only relevant topic banned.

On 15 December 2010 she got 200 hours of unpaid work and £1,400 in costs. Her own lawyers cost another £7K, and her husband took out a loan to repay the £12K. She says she repaid around £15K in total for money she never took, and customer satisfaction was not surveyed..

The court said 200 hours. Post Office added a lifetime at no extra charge.. She says she still wakes up screaming and takes antidepressants. She says old friends crossed the road to avoid her, and that she once considered taking her own life.

Her husband quit as chair of the parish council. Her cleaning business folded when a customer asked for a background check, and in 2016 they left the village. Her 8 grandchildren were told nothing for 11 years.

On 23 April 2021 the Court of Appeal quashed her conviction along with 38 others, known as the Post Office 39. The court said Post Office knew there were serious issues with Horizon and had a clear duty to investigate. Good to see a court explain that investigating is part of the job.

A Post Office case review in 2014 noted she had never admitted false accounting before pleading guilty. In December 2014 her MP Norman Lamb @normanlamb wrote to Post Office boss Paula Vennells @PaulaVennells1 about her case. Her conviction stood for another 6 years.

Rob Wilson, the former Post Office head of criminal law, was questioned at the public inquiry about her case. He also accepted it was his stated view that Post Office should grit its teeth and keep prosecuting.
